So I saw this social experiment on youtube about a mom breastfeeding her child in public. And I was so shocked to see people who actually see it as inappropriate and confronted and criticized the mom for it. In my country, I’ve seen mothers who breastfeed their babies in public and not a single fuck was given. Are those people so surprised to see what breasts really are for?
Im sure the video you saw on YouTube was fake. I dont know anyone who would have a problem with it where Im from. Its just a natural thing that all women should have a right to do.
To see a woman breastfeeding should be one of many things in society that should be seen as natural and not a damn person should bitch about it. It's this fucked up social and moral majority trying to make us think and feel certain ways. Well FUCK THEM. I think that all women should have a breastfeed in public day about 1-2 days a week and if people don't like it, tell them to shit and fall back in it.
Yeah, breasts have been eroticised to such an extent that a lot of people have genuinely lost sight of the fact that their primary purpose is the feeding of infants. When they see an infant suckling, their gut reaction is that they're observing a sexual act.
If the experiment took place in the USA, I'm not surprised by the result. Looking at American culture from the outside, what you see is a weird blend of almost Taliban-level prudery and blatant sexuality.
People on the political right have a self-righteous streak which makes them believe they have the right to judge and publicly shame those who are doing something which makes them uncomfortable. From an outside perspective, the vast majority of Americans are right of political centre.

I have mixed feelings on the issue. In theory it should be perfectly acceptable. But that is if everyone in society is of fit mental health. Unfortunately we have psychos out there who may be triggered by the sight of a bare breast so breast feeding in public is somewhat tempting fate. Proceed with caution.
