Is it normal I think he deserves it? He's a horrible human being who married a disabled woman half his age and inherited her business - I call him "the heiress". He called a meeting this week to let us know that if we received any e-mails from him we should be careful and not open them because they're trojan horses that could harm our computers and that some pornographic videos have been made using something like deep-fake technology.

    It's not something I know a huge amount about, but my understanding is that good quality deep fakes aren't (yet) something that just anyone can produce with a few mouse clicks.

    Nobody should be shamed for being gay (although in my book it's perfectly fine to shame hypocritical assholes who are homophobic in public and gay in private), but I'd be sorely tempted to open the videos after taking as many precautions as seemed reasonable. Maybe the "fake" is so poorly done it's obviously fake, which could be quite funny. Or the claimed fakery could be so difficult to see that either the video is genuine, or the guy has enemies within or outside your workplace who are willing to spend fairly serious amounts of time and/or money trying to embarrass him.

      We're pretty sure it's real videos that someone had access to and that he's saying they're fake for the sake of his reputation. The person is requesting he pay a hefty amount. He's not well liked at all and a bit of a weirdo so I can imagine a handful of ppl wanting to get revenge for the way he treats them.
