Biracial dating

My parents and sister and practically ALL of my family are warning me that dating a black guy would be the end of me. I really like him but I'm really scared to date him now. I'm wondering if what they are saying is true and if it is normal?

I don't understand why this would be a bad thing? If he is a genuine guy then who the hell cares what color he is? They shouldn't care either way

So what? Is your family going to date him to?

They should judge him based on his personality..not the color of his skin and their projections of what a "black guy" is like.

If they know this young man personally and still caution you, its probably best to listen to them. If they have no idea who he is and just say it cause his skin color is different, definitely at least invite him over and see how he acts and what he is like. Seriously..this isn't the 60's anymore.

Ugh, one of my former friends used to complain about this. I felt really badly for him because all the girls he was interested in were interested in only dating black dudes. :(

That's completely silly. I'm a black guy and I can tell you that you should have a relationship with a guy you care about, black, white, yellow or red.

I was raised around people of different races and frankly, people of different races have a lot of stuff in common. They are a lot less different than they think.

I don't understand HOW it would "be the end" of you. Could you explain that part a bit more, please?

They mean he would have a huge dick and tear her in half... that kind of ending.

I know that black & white people differ in many different ways, that’s all I can say...

you may be viewed as a slut after dating him..I think that's what they mean!!!!

Make him work for it; bring him around your parents, talk to him about long term relationships ect..If he ignores this than he's obviously only after one thing!!! It’s important that when dating anyone white or black you see eye to eye, and have some of the same likes and dislikes..

Sure; I'm half black and white so I see nothing wrong with it and my ex was hispanic so I say go for it. Love isn't about what you look like it's about the person that is on the inside.
