Big fear of hackers and being hacked

Ok, this is lotsof*** (just putting it out there) I have a big fear of being hacked, I am very skepticle about new websites, (anything otheer than wikipedia, google, and youtube, also facebook which I barely ever use) commin to is it normal was a big step for me, one that I am quite happy I made :D, but I'm very afraid of a hacker hacking my lappy and ruining it comepltely.... :(. On the other hand, I am very interested in hacking and want to learn it myself, therefore setting a goal for myself, and when/if I learn more about it, then I can learn how to protect my own pc from hackers and viruses and what not. Would anyone say that this is a normal fear? or abnormal? thanks.

Linux is in no way harder to install anymore. Ubuntu is just select some options about your account and language then wait about 20 minutes and it's done. wine is there to emulate games (not all of them work) and it's just a better Operating system.

Only about 40 viruses have been made for it and needing root privileges to do anything important stops viruses gaining easy control of your computer as with a Windows computer. I use Linux on my laptop which is my internet device and Windows XP on my desktop which has no internet access for games.

Just try Linux if your that paranoid

  • OK want safe advice?
Change your operating system to lynux.
    why you ask?
Because not only is it not Microsoft but it is a much stabler based operating system and because not many people use the system there are no benefits to creating a virus for it.

If you stay with Vista get ultimate and a decent anti virus NOT Mcafee get the shield!!

Linux* is alright, but it has WAY less games if the person is a gamer, and it's a lot harder to use and install stuff. (Though it'd probably not TOO hard to learn)

  • I was hacked by another user in the chatroom one day I knew Id been hacked as I gave this person my hexidecimal code. It was funny as fuck the person was using my name and saying out of character stuff telling people I like little boys. It was hilarious to see the other peoples reactions. So dont be scared hacking can be fun too like a lot of other things

Some hackers from what I heard take advantage of the victim's Anti virus program and somehow mess with it as oppose to downloading updates it downloads viruses instead.

I don't think Ive ever been hacked, but i have caught a lot of bad computer viruses and Trojans. I think that's because i like to surf the web raw, Norton slows me down.

AVG is the most commonly used and so they'll know how to bipass it more than comodo.

to be fair just don't go on porn or dodgy looking sites. Get an adblocker for your browser and preferablly use opera, it is the best browser out there.

And linux ideal for hacking if you want to get into it... I wouldn't suggest trying tho

If you don't want to get hacked try using linux... or something other than windows. Vista is more secure than xp, Opera is more secure than Firefox (and it's quicker) and Comodo firewall is the tightest firewall to get.

The last 2 are legally free.

LOL! I am using Windows Vista with Mcafee antivirus with firewall protection. I must say that I have been lucky and have not had a virus as of yet.

Can you teach me how to "hack"? LOL!
