Bf gets mad when i tell him i like his beard

my bf (28) sometimes grows out a beard. not a huge one but it’s there. and sometimes it looks a mess because he doesn’t trim it right. and he willl let his hair grow out too, not long but to the point where it looks like he’s a homeless person. i honestly like the beard, actually i really like it. i perfer guys with beards and he knows that. i’m okay with short hair on guys though. anyways,

whenever my bf gets a hair cut i ask why and he gets so mad and says “you want me to look like a homeless person” and that’s deff not the case i like when he gets hair cuts. i always tell him though, keep the beard it looks great on you. and he gets so mad and tells me i’m acting like a 5 year old. he thinks i want him to look bad for whatever reason which isn’t true. aren’t girls allowed to have a type of preference? it’s like my bf wanting me to shave my vagina. it’s totally backwards and so rude. he makes me feel so bad about expressing what i like. and i’m sure a lot of girls like guys with beards.

    I would consider it a warning sign that he gets irritated over something so trivial.

    I like beards when they aren’t big most guys look better with one in my opinion. My boyfriend has one but I shave it to keep it shortish. Recently got him some beard balm which makes it much less wirey looking plus smells good. This may be weird but I even cut his hair too as a dog groomer cutting hair is fun to me. He don’t mind it usually wants me to. Overgrown messy beards drive me crazy so if he doesn’t fix it himself I do. I like flippy hair but not very long but he has thick hair where it doesn’t look as good on him so I try and keep his fairly shortish.

    My point is maybe if you offered to style or fix it yourself maybe he’d feel better on keeping it especially if you make it less homeless looking but enough where you like it? Idk just a thought. But if that helps yeah I like beards too. On some rare occasions messy ones can actually look pretty good. But he shouldn’t make you feel bad about liking something that’s not cool.

    Sounds like he needs to CTFO (chill the f*** out). Also, are you constantly telling him this? Maybe that's what's bugging him.

    I have facial hair and women don't seem to care. I think it is actually considered attractive because its a masculine quality. I don't see why he would care to be bothered by that compliment.
