Best friend fallout!

A couple of days ago, I fell out with my best friend because she lost a really nice book of my brothers which he bought with his own money. It was given to her to look after whilst we were watching a movie at the cinema, and she supposedly took it home by mistake. The next day she came into school and told me she'd lost it, but didn't apoligise or seem to care much either. She then quickly went onto another subject after realising I wasn't speaking. Eventually she noticed and left me. Since then she has put horrible things about me on her msn and persintently calls me spoilt (I do not know where she has got the from. If anyone's spoilt it's her!) A lot of other people are beginning to take her side assuming it's just a stupid book, but my little brother really wanted it. He's only 10.
Now we are not speaking at all, and she has quickly found other friends. This is something I can't really do, as she has taken the only "loners" (people who have no best friend) already. Everyone else is already in a little group and I don't think they really want any extra people, so I'm always by myself.
What should I do?

    Hey guys.

I was the creator of this post, although I forgot my password so made this account instead. We fell out last year and like most girls, they make up with eachother. We both realise it was a stupid thing to argue about and the 'Book' thing was our second proper argument. The first was about PRINGLES! Seriously, we fell out for a day over them. Anyways, I would appreciate it if no-one else posted any replies anymore as I've made a choice to be friends with her again, and therefore don't need your input....no offence.

Thanks though to all that posted!

She sounds like a jackass. Don't let it get to you. In five years, it won't matter what your classmates think of you. What is important is that you find a real friend or a couple of them. She apparently was NOT someone worth having around.

My 2 "friends" fell out with me because I accidently broke her pencil...we were 12 and they bullied me for months, they took all the friends so I had none and it was hell. Im so sorry your having this too. after my mum and the headmaster got involved it all became ok again then I couldn't get rid of them for years. one of the girls stuck to me like glue for ages until I couldn't take her shit anymore and I "broke up" with her.
Moral of the story: they are F**k**g losers and dont even deserve your time. ride it out and start talking to different social groups that dont like her... good luck!
