Being on this site makes me feel like a bad person sometimes

Reading all of these posts and anonymous confessions, makes me feel like I am doing something wrong. I think I tend to put myself in the author's shoes and see it from their perspective and then I feel like I'm also guilty of that thing. This applies more to the posts involving controversial topics like sex. I am a very empathetic person, and sometimes I feel things I don't want to feel. I can see everyone's perspective... but I'm taking in a lot of negativity.

    aww that's sweet. i write some stories were people say im gross and weird, and it does make me feel bad person too, but actually I need to know that even if it's harsh, it's the truth what people consider as "normal" or not.

    I know what you mean. It's almost like watching a TV show or reading a book where everybody turns against the main character. Even if you don't agree with the behaviour of the main character, because the show/book is from his/her perspective or otherwise centered around him/her, you tend to side with him/her because of the empathy you feel being "forced" to relate the main guy/girl to yourself because of the way the show/book envelops you.

    I've totally noticed the same thing on IIN as well. I'll be reading this BS that I don't really agree with, but because the OP is like the "main character" and he/she usually presents him/herself in a sympathetic/desperate light, I almost take personal offense even from comments that I would otherwise agree with that are against the OP's views. I just try to snap myself out of it xD
