Banking and working age inconsistencies

You can start working at age 16 in the US, but apparently, people under 18 aren't allowed to enter legal contracts without a parent or guardian.

This is where the problems start with the banks and Paypal, ect.

If I'm allowed to earn money on my own, why are there so many restrictions that make it difficult for me to manage it on my own using banks?

In two years, nothing major will probably change with me.

I have a parent helping me with a joint account, ect. However, the extra trouble that we have to go through is frankly a little annoying, and seems mostly pointless.

  • Tradition, tradition! Until then, use a piggy bank.
