Everyone does, I read somewhere that a camera shows you what you look like better than a mirror, because of the way a mirror reflects your image. This made me sad when I heard this, because I always thought I looked better in the mirror.
In my opinion the matter is the lighting in both cases, while distortion is present in cameras but is normally practically absent in a well-made mirror. Pick a small mirror and carry it with yourself. Look at yourself in the mirror in different lights; natural light will make you look different from artificial light. And a warmer artificial light is different from a neon light, which, for the record, is the worst, in my opinion. Bad lighting actually leads to any flaw being underlined. I know this problem well because I have acne scars. But in some photos they show up, in other they don't. In mirrors they are always there, regardless of the lighting. So I guess mirrors are more accurate, even if they distort color a little bit.
I feel like I look ugly in pictures or fatter I feel you on this that why I don't like my picture taken and sometimes I see my reflection in windows or mirrors I think I look repulsive but people tell me I'm a cute girl. Which I think they r secretly calling me ugly. I think I have body dismorphic disorder and you prolly do to
In a mirror your image is reversed: left is right, et.al. So a picture is the real you and the mirror is not.
When you look in a mirror, you have to be looking face-on. This is the view of yourself you've seen all your life, the one you've got used to, the one you've accepted.
When a camera takes a picture of you, it can be from any angle. You're not used to seeing yourself from any other angle and it can look odd because of that.
I feel this way too at times. I can take really good pictures but alot fo the times they make me look completely different (in a bad way). How I see myself in the mirror is different from how I see myself on a picture (sometimes). I have been told that I look better in person but it still irritates me that I can look like an idiot on a picture. I think its normal though so dont worry about it.
