Baby bum cream for eczema?

I was diagnosed with eczema when I was 4, triggered by hayfever. I'm 19 now, and I've been managing my eczema pretty well by applying Mylocort cream everytime I have a flare up, but just recently my eczema began to spread, around the time winter started. I live in SA so winter here starts around may / june.

My eczema has spread in small patches allover my arms, thighs, and around my collar bones and its killing me! I tried really strong cortisone cream that has anti inflammatory properties too, and previously it worked like a bomb but these new patches seem indestructable! Oral antihistamines have not helped, nor has an antihistamine nasal spray, nor has any other cream supposedly used for eczema except, bennets baby bum cream.

I'm serious. I saw a jar at my mom's place the other evening and she gave it to me, I started using it and within a day and a half my red, raised, inflamed and itchy patches of skin were normal coloured, and a lot less itchy. I've been using it since thursday evening, so let's say 5 days. My eczema is nowhere near gone, but it looks a lot less hideous than it did before.

Has anyone heard of this, and does anyone have any idea why this would work better than cortisone cream? I'm curious to hear what everyone else uses/has heard of to remedy eczema?

Baby's skin is very sensitive. Products for them have this in mind so they would naturally be a good choice for any sensitive skin issues. Although I am not familiar with what you use, it probably doesn't have a lot of harsh chemicals like traditional medicines would.

Antihistamines aren't always effective or recommended for eczema, although cortisone cream can work.

Maybe the Bennet's Baby Bum Cream is similar to Bepanthen. People use Bepanthen for aftercare treatment when they get tattoos - despite the cream being primarily used to prevent nappy (diaper) rash. They use it because it's free from preservatives and fragrance, but also oily so it moisturises, and contains pantothenic acid (vB5) to aid would healing.

If you're someone who is particularly sensitive to allergens, something that does the basics with the minimum of ingredients is probably ideal. Perhaps for you the best prevention against eczema is a simple moisturiser?

Why don't you try something herbal? More natural, safer and effective.
