Australia

Recently, I do not know why though, I am thinking about living in Australia when I get older (18 now). I mean I know some stuff on it already and I did a little research on it and it looks like a lovely place to live. There are miles and miles of beautiful beaches and lots of friendly people. Nice cities like Canberra and especially Sydney. And it seems like the Aussies are more laid back. I know, every country has its share of problems and I realize that...

...So any people here from Australia? Can you comment about what I thought about your home country? Because I'd like to get feedback from a true Australian who can vouch for their country.

Thanks!

I know you wrote this story at least 3 years ago (from the times the comments were written) but i would definitely recommend living in Australia. It's wonderful weather and the beaches are great but in your story you wrote wonderful cities like Canberra. HAHAHAHAHA trust me, no one wants to live in Canberra it is the most boring and uninspiring place on earth! Sydney is great though and Queensland is nice too.

I'm an Aussie, originally from melb but now live in Brisbane. Best place to be. Awesome weather and people, very laid back. Don't be a try hard, Aussies don't like powers. If you have a good sense of humour you will do fine here. Good luck!

You should also look at New Zealand. I spent 12 days there. They have rain forests, beaches, Alps, sailing and lots of wildlife. In Dunedin, there is the best cardiac hospital. The people are wonderful.

Australia is an amazing country of beautiful beaches, rainforests, rich cultural heritage, desert, mountains, valleys and everything you can imagine.
There is a city in Australia that can cater for everyone's needs:
If you enjoy culture, art, fashion, nightlife, coffee, great weather, entertainment and sport, you will love Melbourne (my home). It is the sport, fashion, food and culture capital of Australia. Public transport can be a bit of a nuisance though. Great parks, gardens and beaches too! Victoria (the state) has some of the greatest beaches, and one of the best coastlines in the world.. the Great Ocean Road.
Perth is more laid back and warm. Great beaches and coastline, but it is the most isolated city in the world.
Adelaide.... umm........ if you like churches.
Sydney is alright if you enjoy nice scenery, overpopulated streets, constant warm weather all year round, and nice beaches.
Brisbane and the Gold Coast are great. Warm weather, great nightlife and awesome coast and surfing beaches. Located in Queensland - the Sunshine state.
Hobart is down south in Tasmania (off land state). Cool weather down there. Lots of hills and fresh produce.
Darwin is up north. Hot all year round. Located in the Northern Territory where you will discover the outback (as well as Western Australia and South Australia) and Aboriginal culture (though that can be found in every state). Though Darwin doesn't get much attention at all.
And Canberra.... forget that place. That place may as well just be a desert.
Everything is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G in Australia :)

every country is different, but be wary as it is like all the others. Racism, violence, deviants, and such still roam the streets as any other. But through the misery you find some alright people eh? It can be fun and a bitch

I'm from Sydney, and I think it's not a bad idea to live in Australia. I love the place. I have to say though, if you're really ambitious and want to go far in life, Australia's too laid back for that.

    • Why do you say that? I'm really curious. Hey, if I do become really successful in life, then that's cool. But from what you've said, I get the feeling that if I move there, I won't be able to achieve very much lol.

Australia is a great place, normal things to do include, but not limited to; throwing another shrimp on the barbie, Riding around in kangaroos, Boxing with kangaroos, Wrestling crocodiles. Also you should know that Australia is just a huge desert and people live about 15 miles from their neighbours down poorly made dirt roads. There is no normal citys ANYWHERE in Australia, and the airports are the most advanced technology considering they contain the only paved roads. As soon as you get to Australia I recommend going to a kangaroo rental place, as there are no cars here. Have fun in Australia! =]

Anyways, i live in australia. I live on the Central coast where it's a couple hours drive from Sydney and its great here. Beaches, ocean, bush, people (of course :P ) and its a cheap holiday for city peoples. I love it here cause its close to the city but peaceful.
The Gold Coast has amusment parks and casinos, beaches and cities, but its packed and a crappy place to live. Holiday only!
      Hope this helps :)

Well it's all scary. Another problem in UK is rise of Muslims. At least most of our blacks are African Christians. I am very scared of Islam.

    • I cannot stand the muslims either. I was in Iraq twice and I can tell you most of the people has a whole do not like Westerners, they will act like it to your face but behind your back they are plotting. I dont understand why they are aloud in our countries in times like these when anyone of them could be a terrorists. Once again we have just lowered our guard.

It's all very scary! I work with a few Muslims and the ones I know are nice but the whole global Islam thing is a big worry. Where in America are there big Muslim communities?

        • I know they have some up north but I would have to look it up to tell you exactly where. They are here though just like we have Jewish communitys. My advice is never to trust any of them no matter what.

        • They love whistling at white girls and staring them down because they have never had any good pussy in their whole lives so if you were to come here they would treat you like a queen. Give them a tri (if you can get use to the armpit smell).

Thanks for the info. It's really scary, the way countires are changing due to immigration. What with travel getting easier, governments getting softer, unemployment becoming more tolerable and accectable, etc.
Immigration has slowly shaped the planet over the last several thousand years, but the speed of it these days is scary and difficult to keep up with.
My school used used to 20%% Asian/Black but now it's 80%%Asian/Black.
            Where will it all end?

            Comment Hidden ( show )
              -
            • I tell you where it will all end is when they take over. Or our economy falls apart. We were nice to them and lowered our guard and they have taken advantage of it. My school was the same way when I was in it, my freshman year we had about 20 blacks in the whole school and they acted white but by my senior year their was easily 100 and they all stuck together talking loud in the hall ways and trying to intimidate all the whites.

              Comment Hidden ( show )
        • The mexicans have taken over. They are the majority in texas and arizona already and states like mine (florida) and georgia will be in the same boat in a few years. They come accross our un protected border and move into slums making barely anything to live on and the government does nothing to send them back because its to costly to do. Not many from any other countries mostly mexico.

hahahahahahaha im on the fucking internet on christmas morning!!!! truth be told im actually testing out this portable hard-drive i got, fuck me its small, but 120 gb strong!!!

If you want to go to Australia to LIVE then do not, under any circumstances, ever, never, even think about Canberra, there is NOTHING there, the only people there are those who work in government, nothing else.
Sydney, well i guess its ur opinion, but lets just say i dont think much of that place...not much at all
The place u wanna be is Melbourne, shits over all other cities, its busy, but not too busy, has creditable transport mechanisms (yes sydney, its called a road grid), ranks highest out of Australia's cities in terms of livability, and has a great mixture of culture (ie art, etc) and other past-times (ie sport). The only thing about melbourne, and indeed Victoria (the state its in)is that it has practically no famous landmarks or anything, whereas everywhere else has at least something.

So umm yeh, thats basically my very individualistic view on it, of course there are other places like Perth (drugs and shit), Brisbane (bogans and shit), Adelaide (randoms and shit), and Hobart (weirdos and shit).

As a proud Sydney-sider i feel oblidged to defend the slander that the melbourites are throwing at Sydney. Australia in general is the best country on earth with close seconds being New Zealand and Canada (NZ is rural and small and Canada is too close to the states). The most extreme country on earth to be sure with the most hostile and alien enviroment. But i love it and wouldn't live anywhere else. Melbourne is a city for artistic wankers trying so hard to be in Europe they might as well just pack up and fly there. Ok ok its alright but if you want a world-class metropolis with the most diverse and interesting populace look no further than syndey. Bustling city, beautiful beaches, majestic mountains and a climate that is pleasant most of the year.

Negative aspects include a public transport system that is from the stone age, heavy traffic and hot summers.

But overall Sydney is the best after all out of Australias four most recognized icons, two are in Syndey, none are in Melbourne. Just give up.

Fuck off! Adelaide is the best.

In Melbourne you got druggies gangs murdering each other guys that throw kids off bridges! And not to mention it's a cramped shithole!
