At what age is it normal to lose your virginity

There's no time for losing it except for when you feel you are ready to lose it.

But to expand further on that, most people wait until they are in a steady relationship and are mature enough to deal with the emotional and other consequences of having sex. And remember to always use a condom or some form of protection.

I lost it at 19 and that option isn't there.

Honestly if I lost in high school I would've been the school slut. 19 was a good age. I could enjoy my youth without it taking over.

Normal is a tricky word. Acceptable? Or the observed average? My friend is a teacher and she says the kids (aged 11-16) are sex-mad. They are desperate for it and she thinks at least half lose it while they are thirteen or younger.

But I live in a country with a spectacularly high rate of teenage pregnancy and I live in quite a deprived bit of it. I don't think this is the picture in, say, New Zealand.

Like MissSorel says, it varies according to the person. I lost mine a little too soon and I think I should have waited until 18 or 19.

I lost mine at 15, and now im almost 18. i was wreckless when i was at the age, and i deeply regret it now. i wish i would have waited for my now current boyfriend. he was a virgin when we dated and i took his when he was 16. i feel if i had waited until i met him, the moment would have been so much more special. i wouldn't even have minded waiting til i was married, if it meant losing it to him.

18 or 19 is average nowadays.

I lost mine when I was 18, almost 19. I don't regret it, although I don't really tell anyone how I lost it because it was kind of...unconventional.

I think 18+ seems to be a good time to lose it. Most that I know who lost it in high school seem to regret it down the road versus those who lost it in college.

Your question isn't a very accurate sample, as you're missing the odd number.. even if you just put:
~ 13-14
~ 15-16
~ 17-18 etc etc...

Well a normal age is probably from 16-20 but a good age to lose you virginity is when your ready.

It's not age, its the level of maturity. And this depends on the person, some people think there mature, but some know. It depends on you.

I know now from personal experience that he had repeated this pattern with other girls at the gradeschool. This was a long time ago and he has since died, and the truth is that many women experience this introduction to coitus without being scarred for life; however each of us has a special awareness of what many men crave, and are extremely vigilant when we see our own daughters approached by men in our lives. It is something no reasonable person wants, but to deny that it exists is just hiding your head in the sand.
