At what age did you start drinking alcoholic beverages?

Only on special occasions (Birthdays, New Years, Canada Day/Independence Day)

14... It was a mix of port, whisky, apple juice and peppermint. At the time it was amazing; I tried it again a year or two ago and it was pretty gross.

i first got drunk when i was 11. crazy, right? its suprising, since now, being 17, i'm not a big drinker at all.

I'm almost 25 and haven't even sniffed an alcolic beverage. I don't plan to either.

I was under 10 when i first had whine but ya know it was a sip of whine. At 12 i started drinking champagne at events but never gotten drunk. The first time I've been drunk was as 17 at a party but I was caught by my parents and got the shit beaten outta me. I haven't actually been drunk since, maybe a little tipsy, and I'm 19.

My parents always allowed me and my brother to try sips of alcohol on special occasions, from a very young age. As we got older (15, 16) we were allowed a little of our own alcohol on such occasions - such as a 4-pack of bacardi breezers to share over the 2-week Christmas period!! As I've got older, I've enjoyed a drink whenever the opportunity arises; but I generally have a healthy respect for alcohol - I don't tend to get drunk and in my mid-twenties I've only ever had 3 hangovers. I don't think allowing young children is a sign of bad parenting, I think it helps show the child that alcohol isn't anything particularly taboo or unusual, and therefore not worthy of experimentation!

I don't drink, unless I'm with my friends that are drinking. Haven't had any alcohol this summer.

Wow alot of people have tried beer very young. First time I tried it when I was 13 or 14 I didn't really like it because it had a strong taste that was blahh! Then four years went by when it was graduation time from H.S that's when I went balls out and had a Four Loko and half a King Cobra I was shit faced that day. After that I'm like no more! Couldn't even stand up. Anywho I was 18 when I experienced my first time being drunk.

i first tried alcohol when i was 10 but just to taste. and then i started drinking when i was 14 or so. It was MD 20/20....ugh...nasty hood drink :P

I first tried one when I was like 12. Maybe 13... either way, I'm not a fan. lol

I had sips of cider as far back as I can remember but my first time properly drunk was when I was 15 on alot of vodka at Christmas.

I drank a few times when I was 11-13, but mostly started to drink regularly with my friends by 15 and onwards..

as soon as i saw the world for the piece of shit it is. it was either drink or kill myself. i didnt have the right stuff to kill myself but thank god liquor was around to save my life.

they gaved me pure vodka as a medicine when I was a child. besides that I had like 3-4 beers a week (at the age of 6)
but I started constantly to drink with friends around the age of 10

First sip was 2.
First actual beer was 14. (I was fucked up. I did everything and damn did I sleep around :/)
First hangover I was 14.

i guess i was about 2. they would leave me with a boottle of wishky so dat i wud fall asleep

At 12 and 13, I drank champaigne at my birthday party.
From 14 years old it was legal in my jurisdiction to buy and drink alcohol.

I have sporadically been allowed to take maybe a sip or two of alcohol during my childhood and teen years. At 13 I got to have a whole glass of wine. At 18 I purchased beer for the first time (in an European country). At 19 (the drinking age where I was) I started drinking. I have never gotten drunk before.

Wow I feel weird for waiting until I was almost 19 (legal drinking age here is 18)

Since I was 16. Im 19 now and I dont care for beer im into whiskey,vodka,rum and tequila! I only drink about once or twice a month.

i had my first shot of some stuff when i was 6 i think, caught my cousin with her friends drinking and they gave me some. Does not taste good when you are still young and even now i don't think i like it.

There is absolutely nothin wrong with kids 9 and up sipping alchol one or twice a year. but to get DRUNK before friggin college is bad and unfortunate.

I tried a few different drinks when I was about 22 and hated every one of them. I will never drink again. Sick.

i have had a few drinks but never gotten drunk. im not a binge or alcoholic. i love malibu coconut rum though, just not too much

my first time was when i was 13 me and my mates stole his perents Vodka and Gin. we then mixed them together. we then went camping and a little later on i was so drunk i couldn't walk and was crying my eyes out. then i puked all over the tent and all over the blankets... it was such a shit time :(

got drunk for the first time when I was 16. I was at the town fair and it was my first and last time drinking fireball. I puked EVERYWHERE hahahaa.

My bro gave me a shot of rum when I was 16, his friend told me to breathe in and I almost threw up ha ha

Im more of a stoner... I drink but only at partys. As soon as I got weed I stopped gettin pissed

My parents let me have a sip of beer at about age 3 or 4. But I've never been seriously drunk. I got somewhat drunk on my 19th birthday, but that was the only time. I completely avoid alcohol now since anti-depressants + alcohol really fucks you up.
