At what age could you comfortably swear in front of your parents?

How old were you when you could say R-rated level words in the presence of your parents without getting scolded or punished for it?

My parents - never. They just aren't like that. Maybe a little around my dad since he's pretty chill, but definitely not my mom.

But my brother. Fuck you, you little shit. <3

About 17-18. But I still hold back around them, especially the mother.

I remember being 17 and saying to my mom, "you're a bitch", and she said, "fuck you". I actually enjoyed the experience.

I like to tell the truth, it's so freeing.

P.S. Is it normal that when I first read this it looked like, "sometimes a little monkey is good for everyone"

I remember stubbing my toe on the corner of a chair and yelling cunting fuck face! At 16 , my mum just laughed, after that I felt comfortable swearing

  • I lived in one of those houses where your parent is your friend deal. I was allowed to do and say things no parent should allow their child to do. But luckily I turned out kinda 'ok'.........

I don't know why, people who need to swear a lot often seem to be the ones who have nothing of intelligence to say.

Unless you take me as dumb? In that case f*** you. jk

I think it's the Lizard thing... Lizards seem they would be a bit cheeky and vulgarian if they could talk! Unlike the polite gecko...

Yes I'm a reptilian from the Alpha Draconis star system. When I don't have the energy to shape-shift into human form, I just live underground(of the earth.)

About 10. It was never a big deal in my house. It's better than punching a wall or a person! My mom and aunt both swear like pros.

my parents never liked it, never allowed it, sometimes in arguments I would swear, probably around 13 i first started.

Around three years old. It didn't help that the adults and kids who lived downstairs cursed constantly. At some point I did stop swearing for a few years and felt uncomfortable saying any type of curse word. I started swearing around them again around 16.

    Maybe 12 - 13.
I still don't say cunt to her quite as often as I do to others but that's really not saying much.
She swears a lot herself & growing up so did my grandparents who I lived with

My mother would have what I realize now were very inappropriately adult conversations with me as early as 6 or 7 years old, so cursing with her was never an issue.

My parents swear as much as I do. I've been comfortable since probably 12 or so.

My dad was raised to never swear in front of women. Occasionally I woukd hear him swear but not too often. And never the f bomb. Apparently he swears like a sailor, just not in front of me. My brother has a different experience.

I dont know when I started swearing. I would never be punished for it, just given the stink eye.

I started cursing regularly around my mom probably around 18 or so,maybe younger, maybe older... I still only say the occasional curse word around my dad and I feel like it really has to be worth it to do so (I'm either passionately angry about something or telling a very funny joke). I still don't curse around them as much as I would around friends.. Well maybe around my mom i do, but I think I still hold back somewhat.
