At home in new york?

I can relate. Where I live somehow for some reason, makes me very uncomfortable. However, whenever I'm in NYC I feel right at home. I'm at ease and everyone minds their own business. I could go walking and living and not have to be panicking about things.

This post is really ass old.

ok so move to New York some people jsut generally feel at home in different enviroments thats why oeple choose to live places and have fgavourite vacation destinations

People in the midwest really do tend to be different then people on the coasts. We like our personal space a lot more here, but when I went to New York City, everyone on the subway was just minding their own business despite the fact that they were rubbing shoulders with complete strangers. It just doesn't bother them.

the city rocks! i never felt completely comfortable there, but NY is a wonderful place.

Everyone needs a fresh start

Lived in new york my whole life and I enjoy that most people leave each other alone, but there are a few areas where you'll run into a bunch of friendly people all for a conversation. Every where else I've gone to I've been stared at and been treated rudely.

I'm FROM new york and I felt exactly the same way about new york to you feel about chicago. In NY, everyone stared at me and everytime I road a bus or subway with a freind and we talked even quietly, people took a mean spirited interest and were very very nosy in ny. In Chicago I felt better on the El and the buses. I think in many ways I feel more comfortable in Chicago than In NY. (I now live in a semi rural region of the us far away from nyc.)

hate new york tourists try living there for ten years you will detest its filthy atmosphere and selfish miserable people from the lawyers to wall street to the jewelers the vendors you name it seen it all and i wouldnt set foot there....

Yeah I live in New York and everybody does mind their business mostly bec. their iPod is too loud to hear you anywaay or bec. they are focused on where they have to go but other then that your totally right.ok when you say you "visited New York" which boroughs are you talking about. Just Mahattan?

here in las vegas getting on the bus is like going to a freak show, youll find people that you didn't think it's possible for someone to be that ugly, they are nasty ugly retarded homeless freaks on the busses in las vegas

I come from a small country town and moved to Sydney Australias biggest city. Country people are supposed to be friendly this is not always the case I have found. Country people can be quite rude and think your invading their backwoods country shithole. City people are definately friendlier and have more open minds. I feel more at home in Sydney than the town I grew up in so I know how you feel just make sure you get a big chomp of that big apple
