Asked out on a date iin?

So this week I was invited to grill some steaks, have some drinks, and get to know a man better over the weekend. He has his own business (that's where it happened, as I'm a regular there), takes great interest in what I do and strives to please me every time I come in.

Sounds perfect, huh? Except I'm completely out of his league. Not only that, but we're not even playing the same sport. He's probably 4'8", weighs 250 pounds, has a tiny head, and he speaks with a noticeable lisp. He also sort of drools a little bit. In other words, he literally looks like a troll.

I don't know what it is about me that attracts this kind of fellas, but there is something. It's been happening since my early teens. I gather it's because I'm much too nice and will talk to just about anyone. And smile, making no distinctions, be it the multimillionaire who owns the  business or the cleaning lady inside the ladies' room.

Any other theory? Does it happen to anyone else? Do you feel offended or flattered?

I'll be honest, you sound incredibly shallow. But it's understandable why you wouldn't want to date this person, after all, we all have our preferences. If you don't want to keep attracting the people you do, then let your shallow self out more often. Make it noticeable to certain guys that you have no interest in them.

      Agreed.
I could have totally misinterpreted the story but you sound like you're hiding behind a facadé. If you don't like someone there's no need to be an ass, but there's no need to put on a kind show either.

Would you rather deliberately be a horrible person to those you deem physically inadequate? Because that is the harsh reality.

Despite the media's best effort of identifying beauty and telling us what we're supposed to find attractive, in the end we all still have unique tastes.

Ask him for an autograph. You know, your date, Danny Devito

I wonder how such a short guy with a lisp can be a successful businessman. I'm not THAT short and although self-conscious about the way I talk I don't have a lisp but am still hesitating to start a business. More power to him I'd say.

It can be surprising what "flaws" in a persons looks can fade and become unnoticed when you get to know the person real well. Some people never try to get past looks. They well ignore some one who's not "good" looking but would be the perfect person for them as a life mate , and chose some one who looks great by societies standards but is really not a very nice person and will only drag their life down . Looks fade , bodies droop and wrinkle but a sense of humor , a good loving heart , a warm smile will still be there at the end of your life.

I've been asked out by all kinds too. I wouldn't be offended though. Be flattered! You're a sweetheart, and you're probably pretty too! Different types are noticing.

Just get to know him, and see whether you like him or not. You don't have to sleep with him, but at least give him a chance. See how it goes. Its kinda good to have a little experience with different types, because then its easier to narrow down what you're really searching for.

I know how you feel. I either attract scum bags that just want to hook up then leave and never speak again, or I attract those. And I have all my guy friends have a tendency to try and get with me at some point, they're just friends, and I love them that way! We never win lol
