As soon as my crush likes me back, i get over him

This has happened to me quite a few times now. I like a boy. I go crazy and my best friend and I figure out how I can get him to like me back. I flirt in order to get him to like me. He starts liking me back, and then suddenly he's as appealing as chopped liver. Then, when he keeps on trying to talk to me and get my attention, I get annoyed, give curt replies, and probably hurt his feelings with my sudden change of attitude. During the entire process, I truly think I like him and that once he likes me back, I'll be the happiest girl ever. Is this normal?

No... You're never gonna find a boyfriend if you keep doing that! My friend does this too though -_-

Normal, but terrible to do. If he's just a crush, the real fun/attraction is in the challenge. We've all been there, it's a thrill, but try winning him over a little more slowly. If you get to know him better, even as a friend, first you'll know how compatible you really are. Once you find someone you can really love you won't get over him so fast, and the challenge of getting him to like you back is that much more exciting because it's meaningful.

  • Omg you sound similar to me. I think you lose interest because you have won the chase, meaning you have found a crush, gotton excited, flirted with him, and then once he liked you back, it was boring because the excitement of the chase was over, so then you move on to find someone else

I agree. But if you really do like the boy and not just want the challenge of getting him to like you, your feelings will stay the same when he likes you back.
Just wait for someone who you really like and not someone to just try to "get"

Ooook so I am pretty sure most people are like this for some period of time as they grow up, and hopefully they eventually grow out of it. Not quite sure when I thought of the idea but I decided to avoid this problem I would act as if guys already liked me. I would trick my own brain into not being affected by jealousy, not to see others girls he would pay attention to (meaning I would make it a goal to be a true friend to them), and being quite satisfied weather they were around or not. Did the trick. the thrill of the hunt died and I am free to pursue the one who I truly want in my life and let it go at the same time:) Good luck, hope that made sense.
