Arghhhhhhh

I feel like I spend my life repeatedly hinting to people that I have misophonia (hating certain noises like eating/breathing loudly).
People are like 'yeah okay' then ten minutes later they're doing it again!
It fills me with special kind of rage where I want to scream and throw things, I feel sick and need to leave the room.
I don't want to make people self conscious about how they eat by repeatedly telling them how awful it is but it drives me CRAZY.

I agree, loud eaters are really annoying. Mouth breathers are even worse. I was on the phone at work having to endure a long, annoying call with a woman, who kept breathing into the damn phone every 5 seconds! Was she shoving the phone down her throat?! If I could be next to her, I'd beat her over the head with the phone!

You do know sarcasm right... I wouldn't beat someone with a phone. I've got business reputations to uphold XD

Maybe people just don't care that you have this issue? Buy yourself some earplugs. I don't like those noises either, but there's no way to force people to obey your wishes especially if they can't help it.

It's a normal thing for people with misophonia in my experience, at least. I have a friend who calls me up sobbing sometimes due to stuff like this because the sounds drive her completely over the edge. It's awful when people don't listen to you, and I'm sorry that people don't take this sort of stuff into account.

I can't stand it when people eat with their mouth open, and lip smacking afterward, that damn lip smacking.

  • SAME!!! There’s this lady my mother is friends with and she talks as if there’s always a vacuum cleaner on! Practically yelling 24/7!! She needs to shut her freaking pie hole before I ram it so far into the ground she gets a free trip to China!!!!

No one forces you to be around people, assuming you're an adult.

You can't help having this phobia but you can do something about it: ever thought of therapy?
