Are your friends that important?

So you are the Team Captain and you have to create your team. You have two options, do you pick your friend or the better player? By picking your friend you increase your chances of losing but at least you have fun with your friend. By picking the better player winning is pretty much guaranteed but you have hurt your friends feelings. Which do you choose?

I am personally extremely competitive and will pick the better player every time.

Better Player 13

  • Friend, regardless. We tend to improve our capabilities when we are working together anyway.

Pick my friends and have a laugh. Beats being serious and winning anyday.

Better players. Why would you pick your friends which you know are bad when the point is to make a decent team. This would not work in a business. In my business class they explained this to us. Simply being your friends does not mean they valuable members of the team. I really don't care if anyone is hurt by this decision. If you don't have what it takes you don't have what it takes. Thats just life.

I would choose my friend and I'd practice with her/him until my friend became even better than the original better player. If we still lose then atleast we'd lose together.

Even if there was a great prize, I'd pick my friends. I'd much rather have a fun time playing rather than have a serious match, anyway. It would give me more happiness having a good game with mates instead of just getting some award.

How important is the competition? If there's a big prize for the winner, I'm sure my friends would forgive me not picking them. If I'm just their to have a good time, I'll pick my friends ten times out of ten. I'm a very competitive person, but winning without friends wouldn't give me any sense of accomplishment.
