Some things yes, somethings no. Any other answer is a lie or given by a blind idiot.

For the first 30 years of my life I thought the USA was a pretty great country.
But these days, I'm down right ashamed to be an American. Geo Bush made us the laughing stock of the world, made us into the biggest debtor nation on earth, got us into an unnecessary war using bald faced lies and stole our civil rights with the Patriot Act.
Obama was our "great black hope" promising to change things, but he has done few things he promised and is generally considered a spineless disappointment by me and the rest of the world. The democratic system has been suborned by greed and the only god revered by most Americans, is the almighty dollar.

I don't understand the idea of being proud of the place you were born into. It is not as if you could control how your country is. Being born somewhere depends on luck, not on your achievements.

No. Not until Canada starts the infamous NORTH POLE WAR!!! Where we attack Alaska, Greenland and Russia all at the same time, because FUCK YOU! Thats why!

  • There are a lot of things I love about Canada. However, I think it's reprehensible how we treat the First Nations peoples and the environment here.

No. I am ashamed to be an American. I can't wait for the time when I can pack up my things and settle down in Canada and then give up my citizenship here. If all goes as planned, it shouldn't take too long… However the process of switching citizenships may take awhile.

I dont have a country, just a human being on this planet. I didnt do anything to help build this country and I wont be ever in my life. Patriotism is for monkeys in my opinion.

Its 2014, all the continents are connected through internet, planes, ships, we should be focusing on world progression at this point, not worrying about whose imaginary lines are better. Soon we wont have a choice anyway.

I lived there for a couple of years. Then my visa expired and I had to leave the country.

Not really. The country is a sum of people past and present and the realities of their lives. I don't think they're any different than any other group of people would be. There's nothing inherently better about being one nationality or another.

I like that my country has produced some beautiful things because it had every opportunity. I am ashamed that my country has committed hideous and unconscionable acts with other opportunities given.

Not really no. I'm not proud of my country, in some ways I fear its future and the present. Overall I have no pride for this country and would like to leave it if possible in the future. I don't hate this place, but I don't see it being around for too long. But I'm not too politically active to know exactly what is wrong with it or how to fix it, I just know general problems that people are experiencing.

I'm not sure if pride is the right word to describe how I feel about the UK, but I do love it and I do feel a connection to it. It is beautiful in its achievements, its idiosyncrasies and its faults, and it is my home.
