It's a waste of time. I've submitted my will to my unstoppable corporate masters. Life is easier now.

Yes, although nowhere near as much as I'd like to. I'm actively protesting the condition of student housing in my city (it's terrible, malicious and often illegal) and the pension cuts to members of academic staff at my university (which may be as high as 27%). I'd like to be more active in protesting education fees (which is a massive national protest at the moment), but I've got too much on my plate with the other two causes. There are too many causes to name that I wish I was more involved in. It's the only thing that really invigorates me.

Being a vegetarian is a sort of meat boycott. I'm doing my best to boycott companies I don't like, such as Amazon. The problem is it's almost impossible to live ethically in the capitalist environment we exist in. You've got to make every decision actively against the grain, because the choices which we are socialized towards are almost never ethical. Your unusual patterns of consumptiom alienate you from a lot of people and disinclude you from participating in the mainstream. It's tireless labour.

Sort of. I am very conscious of what I consume and don't buy products from just anywhere. I refuse to support companies that are horrible to the environment and society as a whole.

I do enjoy a good protest and have participated in many over the years.

You know, companies like coke, walmart, mcdonalds, nestle, dole. I cant think of all of them.

And stories...hmm. I dont think I have any good ones. I usually sneak away before the cops start arresting people and pepper spraying babies. My city lives its protests

  • Not really, but there are many companies I will not buy food from. I am very particular about what I consume and try to avoid gmos, chemicals, non organics and meats from unhealthy animals.
I try to buy all my food from independent farms and butcheries, but it's near impossible in modern America.

Religion is tyranny of the soul. I protest and discredit religious institutions with their thought subversion whenever I can.

Do you remember that guy from the Westboro Baptist church Fred Phelps? Members of his group or something was in a town nearby like over a year ago maybe, and apparently they were going to do their "God hates soldiers" protest at the funeral of a soldier. So my family and I drove to the town and joined an anti-protest, a protest against protesters you could say. We formed a line around the church where the funeral took place and held flags and waited for them to come...they never did.

My dad wanted to find them and did some asking around. He heard they were staying at a certain hotel, so he went to the hotel, found one of their cars, and placed a red white and blue beanie baby bear on the hood of the car. It was a very cool experience.

I never join protests or boycotts. A few years back, there was a worldwide protest against GMOs. I thought about going, but I changed my mind. I was scared that it might get violent (some people don't seem to understand what "peaceful protest" means, and I didn't want to get arrested.

Those are my two main reasons for not protesting. Have of the time, when people protest, I wonder why. Some protests have initially been for good reasons, but then they end up becoming a mockery out of themselves. (Occupy Wall Street)

Perhaps, it is due to my differing political beliefs, but most of the time, I don't think it is worth it.
