Catfish was a documentary following a friend's and colleague's deceptive online relationship with a young woman. A new reality tv show called Catfish will follow Internet couples who have never met. I don't usually watch reality shows besides True Life but this seems interesting and to say the least it may teach people to be more cautious when pursuing an online relationship.

What are your thoughts about the show and about the topic at hand? (online relationships)

    I don't plan on watching it, though I did enjoy the movie. Even if it was a little predictable, it was funny and endearing at times.

    My relationship is a result of an internet relationship, actually. I recently went to a wedding where the couple had met on the same site me and my boyfriend had met.

    There is nothing wrong with online relationships, but some people are very deceptive. I cammed with my bf so I knew he was actually real and the age he said he was, and in college like he said he was. I made sure everything added up and he was who he said he was before we made any changes to our lives for each other. I can't imagine how the show will go.. Some people can be rather ignorant to these things just because they feel they are in 'love'.

    depends on if it's actually real, unlike the other 98% of 'reality' shows that are just based off reality, or faking reality. I've just been so turned off by the concept of [fake] reality TV.

    Yes, I'm watching it. I'm really interested to see how Internet relationships really are for adults, having in mind that the person behind that screen can be anybody. And also how it's different in many ways to a real actual physical relationship.
