Are you familiar with the idea "the great filter"?

This idea or theory encompasses how life has evolved, how did life on planet earth get here and get to here.
For example, did we pass a "great filter" when one-celled organisms evolved to multi-cellular organisms? Perhaps yes, perhaps no.

My question is dealing with reality, today. Do you feel "The Great Filter" could possibly be nuclear weapons? Our ability to use them against one another. Or we will move past this awesomely destructive weapon?

My own opinion is we shall.

I'm really scared.

    If we don't blow ourselves up some much more advanced aliens will decide to get rid of us due to our destructive nature.

    It's good that you remain positive. But I don't see evidence that people are showing respect for our planet and so our planet will not interfere with our extinction.

    The Great Filter will most likely be the emergence of artificial intelligence.

    Skynet will be the human race's last and greatest mistake.
