Are you bothered that the star wars films will be made by disney?

A lot of people are pretty angry about the new Star Wars films. Personally, I'm not that fussed. I like the universe of the franchise and would like to see them.

Also, Disney make some great films. Pirates of the Caribbean, for example, and the recent Marvel films such as the Avengers. They have the potential to be great. Plus, with Star Wars being such a big deal, the scripts and storylines is going to have to be pretty damn good.

    It's funny because back in the 90's I remember watching the 3 films from the late 70's early 80's and thinking what a shame they didn't further expand on star wars. Now there's another 3 films, countless spin offs, tv series etc. George Lucas sold out. I'm really not sure what I feel now. On one hand it brings star wars into the new millenium, to a new generation, but the purist in me loves the originals and feels like something sacred has been spat on.

    Do you mean to say they are being redone? That is just stupid. If Disney redoes star wars its going to be star-trek. For the record I prefer star-trek but star wars is more designed as a war movie with a touch of science fiction . The thing with star trek is you know its science fiction. It seems more focused on the sci fi kind of theme. So it comes off as this light nerdy kind of up beat theme. Star-wars is not something Disney needs to get into. There is a dramma, realistic, thriller, preppy, horror, scifi, scifi futuristic.

    Disney will try to make a shoot em up into starter and inquorpararate LOGIC which the can't do look at the stereotypics on all of the disney princess shit that they feed the Bairns they will try to REINVENT STAR TREK god damnit disney you will destroy Startrek and star wars for everyone why just not sell it to some guy who knows what star trek ppl want and what star wars ppl want

    It's only okay because Abrams is doing it. People need to stop complaining about the lens flare. It worked for Trek.

    After what George Lucas did with the second trilogy, I don't think Disney can screw up the 3rd trilogy too much. Although they will beat the horse long after it is dead-- they're supposedly making the next trilogy and at least two origin films for some characters.

    Honestly, I think people are complaining about nothing. All movies have the potential to be terrible regardless of if the same person that made the original versions are making them or not.

    Disney has made quite a few good films that are for the same age range as the previous star wars, and I think there is a lot of potential for it to work.

      I see two sides of it. 1 side says, well it can't be worse then EP1 with jar jar binks

      But then I ask what is the possible stories, as someone that read many of the expand universe books, I think the best stories were with Han, leia, and Luke ( the witch planet, sun crusher, etc) and all of them are too old now, and good lord Mark Hamil looks like he went sith, he did not age well.

      So all I can say is I hope for then best, but expect the worst

    I think JJ did a good job with the last two Star Treks and I am excited to see what he will do with Star Wars.
