Are you an energy vampire or have been drained by any?

If you really don't know what a energy vampire is you should look it up. Energy vampires of course normally can stand other energy vampires. But empathetic people should stay away from them. Never say they are bad people but they sure do like talking about themselves "a lot".

But I can tell you I've been around a couple for the past several years and it sure is draining. But I think I'm back and running again after getting away from them.

Yes I am one. 8

No. I'm one of the blood sucking vampires. Energy vampires don't exist.

      They do exist.

People who are negative all the time are energy vampires. I also learned more about them in one of my Sociology classes.

Don't forget the vampire repellent for the blood sucking ones. One spray will keep them off for at least 8 hours.

    Oh, fuck yeah.
My Aunt is one of those energy vampires.

Her husband buys her a $40,000 SUV, she complains that it is not brand new and that it's not the XLT version.

Her husband buys her a beautiful Mustang convertible, she complains that it is too low to the ground, and she likes her SUV better (even though she asked for the Mustang).

Her husband asks her to clean the house/cook him dinner, she complains that he is chauvanistic, even though most housewives know that this is their job. It's called "homemaking" for a reason.

All she does it complain. We go on vacation and she complains that she can't go in the pool because the water is too cold. She complains that she can't leave the house because there might be traffic outside. She is always depressed and always sleeping and when I come into the house happy and bouncy she shuts me down with a "well I'm glad that YOU'RE having such a good day, I'm depressed, tired, my back hurts, my husband won't buy me anymore brownies, my kid is driving me crazy and he wants to play but I need to call the doctor to get his meds refilled because I want him out of my hair" and it goes on.

She is the main reason I moved out.

My sister is one. She usually cannot affect me the way she does other people though... not sure why. I think mostly she ends up taking my negative energy, which pretty much bites her in the ass. lol. However, we got in an argument through text the other day and I was left emotionless the remainder of the day. I wasn't angry, sad, or anything. But I couldn't be happy either. And a couple times, I'd say she's given me some of her energy. Either way, when she tries to use this against me it never works out to her advantage. 'Tis a strange phenomenon, really.

Even still, I think we need these vampires in our lives. Maybe not all the time, but they do have a purpose, all the same.

we arent NEGATIVE ALLLLL the time... we well I just have a dark sense of humor and will always expect the worst but hope for the best....drianing sometimes we (I) just do it without noticing thats when i feel comfortable with some one else but then again if you "drain" some one who is negative...a negative and another do not make a positive lol...but its fun :) altho i never really would concider myself a vamp i just have a natural gift with people lol

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • Is that when someone drains someone elses positivity away completely? If so, I have done it quite a few times. Most of them deserved it, though, although I have done it to people that didn't deserve it.

In my experience, it feels like someone literally pulling your physical energy out of you. You can even feel so strong a pull that it knock you flat on your ass. Taking someone's positivity away is similar, but not the same. It's worse when they pull at you, it feels pretty horrible. I have had this problem because -apparently- I'm a healer. Many people try to pull from me because it makes them feel better than a person with a different energy.

I had actually once had a large, 50-something man sit down next to me and he said "You're a healer. Every time I see a healer I have to sit next to them, I have scoliosus. Would you put your hand on my arm?" I thought it was odd, but I did it. Then I felt my hand and arm kind of go numb..? I can't describe it. Then it felt like the world was spinning but I wasn't dizzy. Then he pulled his arm away and said thanks, explaining that I have a responsibility to own up to. When he left, I felt so sick- my arm hurt and I couldn't move it above my head, I wanted to puke, and

I still don't know if I believe what happened- it was pretty creepy. But I'm glad it was him who did it. I've heard some horror stories about stuff like that. It could've been worse.

        • That does sound interesting. Let's just hope someone insane asks you to put your hands on their head, and you end up taking their insanity.

You can't really take insanity. lol. It's a thought process, not a feeling. However, you can feel the torment you just sucked out. It feels pretty crazy afterward. I hate it.

You have to be careful with who believe about healing. Much like psychics, there are fakes.

I'm extremely empathetic and have a few friends who are energy vampires. For the most part, I get along fine with them. Most of my vampire friends are pretty good at controlling their own energy, so they don't just drain me by walking into the room. There's one girl, though, who started out as a friend, but things started spiraling downward and now I need to mentally and emotionally prep myself for any form of contact with her. If we talk, she doesn't even need to get a full sentence out before I feel totally drained. This may be more about my personal non-vampire-related issues with her, though.

I do seem to get stuck with them. It takes me longer to realise than other people and then I just don't like to be rude. I've been getting much better at getting away, though, by making ridiculous excuses that people don't know whether to believe (inspired by Mira Sorvino: "Would you excuse me? My shoe is filling up with blood").

i think being an energy vampire is related to being empathic, it's like the negative version of it. i think most bipolar people have the potential to be vampires and need to be aware of this. you can learn ways to protect yourself with meditation or just shut the person down with words. best to just avoid them, or if you really think they have the potential to change talk to them about it. it's not right for people not to be able to deal with shit and steal everyone else's happiness because they can't find their own then it just disappears again because they're so damned negative.

if your "friends" take extreme measures to avoid you, then you are. sometimes really sweet and considerate people worry about draining people when they really don't, and you might be one of those. just ask one of your most trusted friends if you're a downer, they should be honest with you.
