Are you afraid to hold babies..

I've always been afraid to hold babies. I just feel like they're so delicate and that I could hold them the wrong way without even knowing that I'm hurting them or something… =/

Yeah. It would be horrible if one dropped out of your hands. They're so little and fragile!

yes i'm always afraid they'll squirm and i'll drop them, even when other people hold them it makes me nervous too

They wiggle around so much. I love holding them but I usually gotta sit down. I feel ya.

I said no then I read the rest of your post lol. I DO feel weird hugging really skinny people, but I've had my own baby so no problem there.

Depends on how old..

If they are old enough to agknowledge the world around them, giggle... Not really..

But if they just popped out, and don't appear to be that cognitive..

Yes. Babies Are Small And Weak They Cannot Be Touched By Large Hands Very Often Or Their Insides Will Pop. This Has Happened To Me. I Had A Baby And My Boyfriends Broad Hands Killed It. We Laughed.

Possessed babies freak the hell outta me.

Yeah, because they always start to cry when I do..

I just always get nervous when I'm sitting there holding the baby and the mom is just hovering over me. I know she only wants to make sure her kid is alright but seriously I'm not gonna drop it.

I didn't used to be afraid but now I am. I think it's because of the responsible parenting thing they make students do in high school (with the baby doll that cries and whatnot). It was rather fragile and now, almost every time I see someone holding a baby I remember my health class teacher saying that babies necks are really weak and that you have extremely careful holding them or they could brake...

I'm not afraid to hold them, but their parents should be afraid of me throwing them across the room. I hate the little vile beasts

3 hours ago lol i rang the ambulance my self and everything its painful i couldnt move cus i have a pain in the side of my ribcage called annageastiagh or summat it means wen im in pain i cannot move lol but its nowt to lol about i have tablets and stuff but wen i was preggers i want aloud take them incase i fucked up the babys heart cos there strong

yes. im afraid...especially if the mother looks overprotective cause then its twice as bad. i dont want the baby to squirm and fall etc.

Yeah, I had that fear. After my niece was born, I was terrified to hold children, let alone be around them. After she was born, I didn't hold her until she started crying nonstop. While milk was being prepared for her I picked her up and felt like I was holding a porcelain doll. ;____;

Ironically though, she loved it when I held her She would cry, and when I picked her up, she'd calm down.

Anyhow, I'd say it's a common fear. Like BUGABOO said, they're very delicate and I always thought I'd end up breaking them or something.

Yeah. I'm not very good at handling fragile babies. Plus, being called clumsy doesn't help the confidence :\
