Vigilante: someone who tries to catch and punish criminals by themselves, without waiting for the police. (http://www.macmillandictionary.com/dictionary/british/vigilante)

Quite simply put, do you try to thumbs up people on here who have been wrongly thumbed down for no reason or what you perceive to be a wrongly thumbed down comment.

Sort of like administering some justice to the thumbs system against people who choose to abuse this privilege.

I hope this explains it a little better.

Yes, although, my awesome thumbs ability has been weakened, the ability of me thumbsing a comment only works 20% of the time...
