Are you a feminist? why or why not?

Since I'm personally not a feminist I would like to see people others view on why I should be... or if you're not one, still add why or why not!

    I guess it depends

If we’re going by the definition, then yes, I am a feminist. Feminism means that you support equal rights for men and women. So by definition, I would say everyone should be a feminist.

If we’re going by the current feminist movement, then no. I would like to support it, but it seems like it’s just full of extremists who don’t understand the difference between ‘feminism’ and ‘misandry’.

I'm a feminist by definition (wanting equal rights), but I don't support the radical wave of "feminism" going on.

I believe men and women should have equal rights of course but if we're basing it off of the modern day feminism with problems like man spreading being a concern, no I'm not a feminist.

I think both male and female should be treated equally.
I don't need to be labeled anything because I feel that way.

Not, because feminism is no longer needed in the first world.

How do you figure that when access to abortion and birth control is actually getting worse and women still aren't allowed to register for Selective Service?

Those are all related to optional parts of life in the first world. Taking the path of least resistance, none of that would be an issue.

No, part of being first world is family planning. You lose that status when you force women to bear pregnancy.

          • We're not forcing women to bear pregnancy over here, because we're not forcing them into marriages, and thereby marital rape and pregnancy.

It's a woman's own choice to have sex, and any otherwise, we throw the rapist in jail.

No one else is responsible for giving a woman birth control when she has the option of abstinence. No sex, no baby, and no need for contraception.

I'm of the opinion that having sex is a privilege, not a right.

Family planning? By planning not to have a family? You don't have to have sex if you're afraid of having a kid. No birth control is 100% so why bother?

I believe women and men should have equal rights. So no, I am not because feminists want privilege for women

Pretty much sums up Western civilization for the past 300 years.

  • No, because I don't believe they are genuine. The more I see of them the more I see that it isn't about real issues its about creating a character arch by villifying the majority so they can be the important/special minority via *some* real life issues and some made up ones.

They do it by attacking everything within their culture because it means they're against the dominant culture, it means theyre the important underdogs.

It's why just a few years ago you would hear most feminists say how women are oppressed in the middle east (failed attempt to show how all women are oppressed) but now you'll mainly hear about how the hijab is such an awesome feminist symbol. Why? Well because their culture opposes ours, therefor that culture is beautiful and totally doesn't oppress women like they said it did two years ago, and if you dare say it does well then you're a white supremacist islamaphobe, buddy.

It's why they will sit there and act like toxic masculinity is a real thing, where men are sexist homophobes and must be stopped! But hey, all those guys that grew up in a culture that villifies homosexuals and where a woman's place is below a man? Well that's just A-okay! And why? Well because if straight white males weren't as bad as the actual people they seem to adore, well then it would undermine the whole basis of their underdog character arch of the white straight males, the ones they're surrounded by, being the worst and they just wouldn't be the important, protagonist, underdog, chosen ones of their make-believe fantasies anymore.

Soz for rambling. It's half two in the morning and I can't sleep.

Yes I think real feminism should be helping women in the middle East and putting an end to forced marriage, child marriage, and female genital mutaltion.

Depends. I'm a female. I'm all for equality, but third wave feminism seems to be unfair to men.

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • I’d probably say yes. I’m not extreme about it as in hating all men, but I do believe we women need to be protected. I’m a tiny teenage girl and I would stand no chance against a full grown man. I think women should be allowed to advocate for their rights and should be taken more seriously when they say something has happened to them. A lot of times they’ll just be scolded and ignored if they try to tell someone about it.

Hell no. I believe in equality, and I'm against most movements, because it doesn't matter how much it's "for equality" or peaceful, they just cause more issues and are violent a lot of the time (BLM, Antifa). Plus I stand by facts, not fiction. So no, not a feminist.
