I always thought they were an invention of whale hunters to hide they were secretly hunting poor narwhales for the gold in their horns. My teacher told me of this being a strange rumour. I think she works together with these men. At least my dog is at my side, even if I have to feed him chicken nuggets for that.

Lots of creatures used to have horns but have evolved or gone extinct. As there have been billions of creatures on earth spanning billions of years, I'd be inclined to say unicorn-esque creatures did once exist.

Unicorns are possible it's a genetic mutation of deer that make them grow one antler in the center of thier skulls. They dont survive because of the mutation either because if they buck the other buck, thier opponents have more of a chance to cut the unicorns throat.
