Are these things normal for a guy who says he's straight?

I hang out with my friend a lot and sometimes crash at his house. Every single time I'm there he looks up porn and starts watching it in front of me. Sometimes I watch too, sometimes I don't. The last time I was there I fell asleep before him. Later I woke up and saw him watching porn and masturbating under the blanket. Is this normal for him to do while I'm there, even though he thought I was asleep?
