Are there more mexican restaurants?

I recently moved from the southeast to the northwest. I love Mexican food and spicy foods, but I like variety. During my move I would eat out a lot and I notice there are like double the Mexican restaurants in the northwest compared to the southeast. I couldn't find anything when I googled this question.

Is this true? And why?

Yes Mexican food and drinks are particularly popular right now. Specifically Oaxacan. It is one of the great food cultures including the French, Chinese, and Japanese. Western men and women are finally discovering the greatness of many regions of Mexican food and drinks and their money follows. There are a lot of places popping up nation wide. Just don't shame ,"cultural appropriation" when people enjoy things from a different culture, these are how,we fan be more inclusive and not divisive.

I used to live in the north east and there were barely ever any Mexican restaurants. I now live in the southwest and there are more Mexican restaurants than anything else in every town I lived in here. Even small towns.

No, I notice many mexican restaurants at all. Western food still rules the day thankfully! ;)

It depends where the Mexicans move to the most probably.

You'd find the most widespread Mexican quisine in the Southwest and Texas probably. It's along the border, and those areas have huge Mexican populations. Otherwise, head to large cities.

I just moved to Delaware, and there's not enough Mexican restaurants.

Delaware is my home state. Never seen a Mexican restaurant there besides Taco Bell.

I think there's like one or two Mexican restaurants here in Dover. Please don't take this wrong, but I ain't impressed with Delaware. When I was in Houston and in Las Vegas we had big supermarkets that sold sushi at the deli, and there's nothing like that here. Now I'm regretting every time I went to the supermarket in Houston, and didn't come back with sushi.

Also, there's no Whole Foods Market here! 🙁

No, it's alright! I'm aware that Delaware isn't impressive at all, besides the tax free shopping. (those people driving from other states taking advantage of that and causing traffic are really annoying though)
We really need a Whole Foods here. :(

    • I think that's because it's one of the furthest states from Mexico.
