It's okay. I had to read it a couple times to decipher it.

You literally forgot the deadliest mass-shooting in US history. October 1st 2017, Las Vegas, 60 killed.

Sadly I believe its a social contagient. I remember the first one was columbine and everyone was shocked they had us doing drills in schools all over America. Another one didnt happen until Sandy Hook or something and then since then it seems like its gotten too common. I just wish they would stop glamorizing it. This Nashville shooting happened very close to me and a close family member is a teacher at a neighboring school. It hits different when it happens in your backyard.

No one talks much about it but there have been studies that prove violence is contagious. The media milks these shootings for all it's worth because it gets viewers. They don't really care that they are probably contributing to the problem.

No one seems interested in solving the problem either everyone wants to politicize it and virtue signal but none of them offer any solutions that would help. They just say ban AR15s and if you arent for that you are killing kids but then they admit doing that wont even stop the shootings.

          1999: Columbine shooting.

          2007: Virginia tech shooting

          2012: Sandy Hook shooting

Then after that, it became weekly.

No way was Columbine the first one. I'm in the UK and I know that's not true. For instance an Irish band called The Boomtown Rats had a hit in 1979 with a song called 'I Don't Like Mondays' - which was about a school shooting and the reason the girl gave for doing it. 1979!

One thing that I know for a fact is that all this people are or have been under some type of psychological medication... Hope that answers your question

Yes it did happen while Trump was president.

Depends on what you mean by "political". If you're wondering what the shooters want, it's usually to shoot people. If you're wondering why they want to shoot people, you have to delve into their history and psychology. They didn't just wake up one day and go "I think I want to shoot up a school today. Because, idk, Biden or Columbine or something." Most of these shooters had actual shit they were dealing with, it's stupid to oversimplify it as we keep doing over and over again.

We end up blaming somewhere around two dozen different things, we change nothing because we can't agree on what the problem is, and then we expect different results.

Personally, I think we need to tear down and rebuild the school system, find a way to bring communities closer together so people can have someone to rely on other than their therapist, and stop it with the long guns. Emptyass platitudes like "mental health" just leads to proposals like "let's put more mental health professionals in our current school system, the same one where we're putting bulletproof checkpoints and armed guards. That will make the kids happier. Let them know they have an absolute stranger they can talk to at any time!"

Not even saying it's a bad idea, just that it's not enough by itself. Again, knowing WHY they're shooting up the place is very important, and then the second half of the battle is getting an act passed and not just going "let's not shake up the status quo too much. It's not like it's happening that often so let's maybe consider some half-measures and see if a few more kids die."

The word 'political' should only be used for tax policies and actual boring political stuff like that.

Not really. I think 99% of school-shootings are caused by people fetishizing the Columbine shooting. In hindsight, it was a bad move by the media back then to give it so much attention.

No, it’s mental health + availability of guns.

School shooters almost always follow the same trend. Pathetic, entitled people who would rather blame the world than work on themselves. Except Eric Harris as a bit of an outlier, they’re all the same kind of person.

Certainly nothing overly political about them.

Take a look out side the USA, you might find part of your answer.

Mass shootings/killing happens more when the political inviroment is divisive and full of hatred.

I'm sure there were some many years ago, however, they seem to have continually grown since 2000 and the Clinton administration. The US also seemed to start getting more divided and hatred cranked up since the Clinton/Bush election.

There may be little connection. It maybe that the media found they could sensationalize things and influence things more about that same time. Maybe they just were searching how to make media important again. They had Vietnam in the sixties, political corruption of the seventies, they were pushed aside and struggled for the 12 years of Reagan/Bush.They didn't like Reagan and tried but failed to get a lot to stick. Then the Bush war they found something they could push and get people angry with their neighbor.
They haven't stopped pinning people against each other and breading hate since then.

I do think that some shootings are organized by our shot govt to keep people scared and anti gun. But you’re not allowed to say that bc it’s disrespectful to the people that have died.
