I'm not quite sure what you mean, but it's perfectly normal to feel like you're better off than other people.

Instead of saying "is it normal for some black people to be better than other black people". Emphasis on people.. I hope what you mean, are Some PEOPLE better than other PEOPLE. Then YES Based on morals, values... ect. Everyone is defferent, their skin color does not determine who they are as people.

    it's normal!

and this is why black people from American call themselves niggas.

I'm black people, but I have my problem to worry about, other than thinking of black people who give other blacks bad name and reputation.

Just be proud that you are what you are. It's normal to try and be the best person you can be; successful and happy.
You are a good example for other people.
I can't stand loserish people, whether they are ghetto black or redneck trash. People just assume that it's normal to slip into stereotypes, but you ARE better than that.
Just keep doing what you're doing, and try to set an example for other young blacks that you DONT have to be some gangster badass.

  • I don't really think that some people are better than others just because they have more money.

  • Don't be ashamed of who you are. I've had it roughed up, not as bad as a lot of people, but I like who I am. A lot of people are 'better' than me, but I feel like I'm better in the sense that I may not have what they do, but I'm me and have everything sorted out for myself. I couldn't change who I am. Yet all are created equal.

I think I understand the question better than most of the people in this thread. My daughters mom is bi-racial, and cannot stand black people. I don't think it's that she thinks she's "better" per say, only that she realizes that she doesn't want to be the stereotype.

Having grown up in a predominantly black neighborhood and being of a lower socioeconomic status, I can attest to the fact that it's incredibly hard to be yourself as a young black boy or girl. The outside pressure to join the ranks of gangs and hip hop culture, the idea that if you sound educated you're a sellout or trying to be white, are everyday realities for these kids. I have only known a few from my neighborhood that broke the mold, stepped out of the stereotypical mindset, and decided to be who they are on the INSIDE. We ALL struggle with this dilemma constantly. Do we follow our inner voice and be who the fuck we want to be; or do we break under society's or our cultural
    pressures?
I think it would be incredible if black people would educate themselves and leave the gangster life to all the upper middle class white kids who so desperately crave it.

You sound like you need to be taken out by one of the people you consider 'below you'. That would be hilarious.

    Dumbass.
