Are my weird thoughts ok?

OK, I've been having really weird thoughts about killing other people, even random people who I don't know. It's like I have a fantasy about stabbing someone to death and maiming them. I'm not violent or angry, I just have these strange thoughts. I never had them before in my life until now.

    i have thoughts like this too sometimes, but they are usually less about the murder itself and more about the precautions i would take to outsmart the authorities. if these thoughts are persistent and you actually feel as if you want to act on it, get help.

      the harm is some people will snap and act on their thoughts

      now im not saying YOU will, but there is a possiblity that you could weither you are violent or not. like another person said, theres something building up inside of you

      maybe, something horrible from your life that youve blocked out (abuse, cheating boyfriend, asshole father, no bio parents etc) but its still eating you inside without you knowing, get a therapist and talk about it, they even have free hotlines you can call. <3

    there is some sort of frustration build up inside you... try to pin point it and get over it. as you said u are not angry or violent... but there is something build up inside of you, try digging it out, coz having thoughts about KILLING someone... its not nice.

    Everyone has these thoughts, some people obsess over them, for others they just pop up and go away immediately.

    If you actually enjoy these thoughts and think about really doing it, get help asap. But I doubt that's the case since you asked here.

    I agree with The chief I have had these and I immediately push them out of my head. Do not indulge these thoughts, you do not want to develop an ugly habit. Try to figure out what you are pissed about; it could be anything, doesn't have to be deep and dark. You might be really mad about something and you have never admitted to yourself that you even felt wronged. Attempt to become in touch with your emotions. Emotions are the window to the soul. As Lao Tzu said in The Art of War "know yourself". If you understand when and what makes you angry and when and what makes you sad, happy ect. you will be able to navigate your darker side safely. All of us have one it is talked about not very much. Continue to talk and find people who will give you realistic advice, in other words avoid violent lunatics who want to actually do sick shit and don't do any yourself, to anyone not yourself not anyone. If the thoughts get worse or last longer and longer and really start to take over your days. Find a good shrink and go talk about it. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy works. Here are some books that will teach you how to train yourself into better patterns: Thoughts and Feelings, by Matthew McKay and Patrick Fanning and Reaching the Animal Mind: Clicker Training and what it teaches us about all animals

    I tend to get these thoughts, both in sexual fantasy and normal daydreaming, when I feel depressed. They also came when I was smoking pot really heavily.
    Your thoughts are "ok", but after a while they may become irreversible. If you watch porn, it may be necessary to force yourself to go no higher than hardcore porn. Eventually, you'll learn to watch (or masturbate) to the softer stuff. If your tolerance to porn keeps building, it can eventually cause homicidal fantasies. I say it's ok, as long as you have other fantasies and don't indulge in these.

    my bf has these thoughts all the time he even has them about people he loves and he enjoys them it took him ages to tell me and it worried me and first but as long as u dont act on them i think ull be fine :) x
