Are my boyfriends balls normal?

Okay I saw my boyfriends balls for the first time the other day. Now I've never had a boyfriend before so I don't know if this is normal or not, plus I didn't really touch them so I don't know if all of my speculations are true. But they were like separated. I don't know else to put it, one was way over on one side of his dick, the second way over on the other, and they were more like ovals or eggs. Aren't most more almost shaped like a sac and way closer together? And he was lying down so I don't know how true this one is but they looked almost stuck to his thighs or pelvic area or whatever, just, stuck to him, like they wouldn't hang if he was standing up. I doubt I'll see them again any time soon because I think he's really self conscious about them (maybe that helps confirm they're indeed not normal? I don't know) but some opinions on the matter would be greatly appreciated!
