I read the man's book & thought it was ok as not more than a book.
Here's the thing, I don't know if Anton Szandor La Vey thought of or presented himself as a philosopher but based on his Satanic Bible & church, he's religious. His philosophies were that of a religious nature & The Church of Satan is a church.
The Satan Bible turned me on no more than The King James' Version of The Bible or The Book of Mormon or any other religious dogma I've taken time & patience to read.
Is it normal to practice the satanic religion?
Of course.
Does it make you any less a sheep than a god-fearing person?

I don't recommend anyone dabble in the black arts AT ALL. My best friend leads a wicca coven and only deals with good magik. I've seen some scary shit from before when he was messing with dark magik though.

Well, Anton Lavey's book was interesting, though it had its strange parts. It's really not nearly as scary as it sounds, and a whole lot more rational than some other religions.
As a Pagan (NOT a Satanist), I do practice magic every now and then. I also use divination to gain insight on problems. I wouldn't call that the black arts, though.

i think real devil worshiping is much better, trust me if you are going to hell you want get on satan's good side, i personally want do as many evil deeds as possible so that when I die i can become one of satan's favorite demons

Anton LaVey died on October 29, 1997, in St. Mary's Hospital, San Francisco of pulmonary edema. He was taken to St. Mary's, a Catholic hospital. For reasons open to speculation, the time and date of his death was incorrectly listed (by 2 days) as the morning of Halloween on his death certificate. Zeena Schreck claimed responsibility for LaVey's death through putting a ritual curse on him. A secret Satanic funeral, attended by invitation only, was held in Colma.
