I honestly can't fathom a reason (other than religion) why some one would be anti-gay.
I can't comprehend it.
Anyone want to enlighten me?
Often its religion. Or its because of general beliefs/culture.
Lets think of a few examples....
If you are in a country where 98% of people are vegeterian (hypothetical), and you eat meat there, obviosuly people will be against you. Simply because you're not conforming to the norm.
Why do people in most countries think its wrong/weird to be a nudist or go about your daily life without any clothes on. Im sure that many people who even support equality will shout abuse at people who walk on the streets or get on the bus naked, etc...
Now personally, I don't really care if someones gay or not. Although I would prefer it if my son were straight, due to the fact I would like my son to be similiar to me. This is common among all people. They all want their children to be like them. Examples, in terms of religion, vegeterian/meat eater, academics, etc...
But having said that, I do accept that everyones different and that we should treat everyone equally. Peace.
because people cant get past the sexual aspect of it, and dont realize that they experience the same feelings people in a guy and girl relationship feel. just because they arent the stereotypical couple doesnt mean they should be told that they cant experience these feelings and have the same rights.

I have two gay uncles. Rich uncles.

Fuck everyone that's homophobic. They just don't understand at all. Least empathetic people ever. I don't care if no one else agrees. It's true.

Pretty much these people are using religion as a weapon...sure the Bible says it is wrong but in the end only God can really judge these people. I was raised Catholic and work in an industry where I work with many gay people and the ones I have met have been the most caring and open people.
Because everyone is a hater and religion makes it right to force everyone into the same beleifs.
Personally, I think people need to stop worrying about everyone else. I don't know about all of you, but I can barely keep my own life together nevermind concern myself with someone elses lifestyle.
Instead of hating, just chill and get on with your life and let everyone else do the same. Who are you to judge a gay person? As someone said, only god can judge. Let them sin, it's not like you all really care If they go to hell or not.
I think that being gay is wrong, because I believe in what the bible says.
But honestly, where in the bible does it say, "Create anti-gay groups and criticize everyone who's gay"?
I don't know about you, but I've never read that verse before. And if we're supposed to be like Christ then we should be treating everyone one the same. We're all sinners, gay or not.
I can't think of a good reason for very, very much of what people think, feel, or do, homophobia included. The trite, almost cliche answer is: "homophobes are secretly homosexual--they secretly hate themselves." But that's not really always true (though it often is). ...People, especially angry, uneducated people are subtly TAUGHT to hate by our culture. The same subtle forces account for homophobia, racism, religious hatred, and militarism... It's ideology: a subtle, almost subliminal strategy of suggestion, inculcating racist and homophobic "opinions"--this keeps the unequal distribution of power in our society intact, reinforces the status quo, by keeping people blind to the differences between the wealthy and the working class, by creating false divisions (and diversions) that cut at right angles to the difference between haves and haven'ts. To keep us from getting angry at inequity in society, society, through culture, teaches us to stupidly be angry at each other, for being homosexual, or black, or white, or male, or female: that's how they divide and conquer. That's why the world remains so messed up.
P.S. Real homophobia IS rooted in (repressed) homosexuality... that's why I think homophobia is totally gross, and an affront to god. (Ha.)
I honestly can't understand why someone would waste one minute worrying about it. I think they have doubts about their own sexuality. Homosexuals are born that way.
Because most people were taught that a usual family is a mom and a dad. Not a dad and a dad or a mom and a mom.
Plenty of reasons, no valid ones. People should really just get out more rather than thinking about other peoples sex lives. Its just sad.
The bible also says slavery ok. Not to mention killing your own son to prove to this "all knowing" god that you are on his team. My favorite is he had to wipe out mankind and start over because of alllll the sinners. Wait a min if he's all knowing, all powerful, and merciful wouldn't he have known not to create us? Wtf is wrong with people and actually believing this garbage. I wrote a better fairytale than that in the 3rd grade!

The reason people are homophobic is because they've been brain washed by other homophobs. they can't think for themselves. And FYI to the genius who said if the whole world was gay there would be no children you clearly live under a rock and have no clue about modern science and technology.
homophobia is a disorder. just like the fear of the color yellow, or fear of trees this is a disorder. and just how kissing is gross to kids homosexuality may make someone feel uncomfortable.

I don't care if your gay or not. What does bother me are the flamers!! Or the real butch lesbians. Too extreem. Too fake.
I believe the reason is that the Bible specifically says this is wrong. That is why it is so hard for people to accept it. I believe it is a sin but no bigger than lying or cheating. I don't want no one pointing out my sins so that is why I say let people do as they wish. Just because people are gay doesn't mean they are not going to heaven just like the things I do are not keeping me from heaven either. There are two types that take this to the extreme 1) Christian fanatics that think their s... dont stink and 2) crazy extremist that are probably racist as well.
A guy can't concieve a baby: you need a man and a woman. If all the people in the world were gay or lesbian, then how could this race go on?
