An urge to mimic facial expressions?
I often get the urge to copy interesting facial expressions shown by actors in movies and television. I do this as I'm watching the movie, IIN?
Secondly, I nearly always find that with asymmetrical facial expressions (eg, one raised eyebrow, a curled lip, a half smile) the actor on screen usually does these on *their* right side, whilst I can only naturally do them on *my* left?
Eg, Jack Sparrow raises his right eyebrow and smiles from the right corner of his mouth. But when I try to copy it, I can only do it on my left. (It's not the mirror effect).
is it normal to copy facial expressions?
is it normal most actors seem to favour the opposite side of their face than I do?
Raise an eyebrow, or do a half-smile. Do you favour one side over the other? Which side?
Yes, I am aware this is trivial/stupid/ridiculous. I'm not sure why I do it... I just see an interesting facial expression and feel like "trying it out" - that's all.
I partly wanted to be an actor.
(And I don't have Asperger's or autism, as far as I know).
I've done this before. I favour my right side. | 2
I've done this too. I favour my left. | 5
I too, have done this. But I don't favour a side. | 1
Never done this. I favour my right. | 0
Never done this. I favour my left. | 0
Never done this. I don't favour a side. | 1
I think the whole thing is weird... "not normal" to everything. | 3
OMG it's like you've read my mind and peered into my soul... | 1
Another option you forgot to put because you are selfish. | 0 |
