Best keep it open, we'll be the ones beating down Mexico's door here soon.
It's actually a pitiful fence. About 10-14 feet with some razor wire at the top. Yawn. I spent a graveyard shift having to stare at that fence in San Ysidro while watching after an abandoned warehouse from my Crown Victoria and I couldn't help but thinking... for the price of a new bumper, if that, I could poke a major hole in homeland security... imagine what a bunch of Mexicans in an old Chevy van could do to it, hmm?
Well, the wall that they're trying to put up, I take it would be much stronger then the current fence? I was just thinking what if the situation was the other way around and Mexico was the one putting up the fence, this country would be in a huge uproar and might even declare war on mexico. They're always trying to stick their nose in other countries affairs, especially if you look at south america and the "big stick policy". When a country refuses the help or does something that they don't like, they threaten them. The idea of putting up the wall reminds me of that buckmann women who said she'd put up a wall like the wall of china. Crazy.
Mexicans using a car would be brilliant, but our government would declare them terrorists. It wouldn't be worth trying to move to "The Land of Opportunities" anymore. There'd be yet another war.
lol yeah right, do you know the ratio of Mexicans coming into the U.S. illegally opposed to the amount of Americans going to Mexico? It's pretty staggering. Nobody wants to go to that shithole country. Of course, At the rate the U.S. is going we won't be much better soon.
And they certainly wouldn't declare war over it, hell we'd probably offer to help them build it in such a scenario. Fact is we don't have a whole lot to gain from Mexico. We just happen to share a boarder with them.
And it's not like we want to stop them from coming to the U.S. all together. Just to stop doing so illegally. Apply for citizenship like everyone else and wait your turn.
Mexico would never put up a wall to stop their people from coming here. Mexicans that come here, very often, send money back to Mexico for their families, which is spent in Mexico and stimulates Mexico's economy, If every family that did that suddenly quit, or families stopped coming here, Mexico's economy would be much worse than it is now.
But I agree with you, America has become the world's cop. War profiteering is a huge problem, I know that people have told my friends who work with the industry that they can't wait for another major war, because they make a shit ton of money off of it.
If the Mexican government wasn't so damn corrupt, then we wouldn't even be having this problem. The cartels practically run that country and some of those people are so desperate to get out that often they get killed in the process. I say, let them apply for asylum here.
It is a non-issue, more are leaving than coming in. The net illegal immagration at the Mexican border is zero.
The root of the problem mainly is caused by illegal drugs. If there were no markets for illegal drugs, then there would be no impetus for the drug cartels.
I think the US should focus on getting to the root of the problem, and try and prevent our kids and teenagers from abusing HARDCORE drugs. And at the same time, we still need more help there on the border, trying to stop the bleeding.
The war on drugs has been going on for a LONG time in the U.S. It's supply and demand. A hundred thousand junkies is a good market for the drug trade(obviously I don't know th actual number of drug addicts in the U.S. I'm just guesstimaitng)
Drugs will always be an easy way to "feel good" and for people with no goals and no self esteem a lot of them take the easy way out.
I used to do the same thing, but then I started getting into fitness. It's a much healthier pass time and it makes you feel good to make your body stronger. Only problem is, it takes work, and junkies want an easy way to feel good.
