Am i to tall and lanky

I am six foot one and people always comment on how tall I am but I don't feel tall.

In Fact most people in my family are taller then me the tallest being six foot eight and the shortest six foot.

Not only that I am very thin I work out a lot So it hard to describe it but I am still thin regardless.

Is six foot one tall or not because I am not so sure about that and why am I so thin no matter what I do?

Depends on where you live and how old you are.

If you were Indonesian, then you'd definitely be very tall, since the average height of men there is 5'2". If you lived in the Netherlands, then you'd be more or less typical, since the average height of Dutch men is about 6'.

However, since you use feet and inches, I assume you're American or British. If so, you're above average, since the average height of American and British men is around 5'9".

I'm American by birth, and I'm 6'4". People have always commented on or at least noticed my height, but it's never created any real problems for me. Finding clothes that fit was a nuisance a few decades back, but people are generally getting taller, so long sizes and bigger shoes are more common these days.

The only time in my life when my height was serious annoyance was when I worked on submarines. My scalp still has scars from all the times I whacked my head on overhead projections that average-sized guys could just walk under.

But unless you have a burning desire to be a submariner, tanker, fighter pilot, sewer worker, or jockey, your height shouldn't have a negative effect on your working life. In fact, surveys have found that taller people are assumed to be more competent and they are instinctively deferred to and assumed to have a higher social status.

Also, most women find tall men more attractive, which can be nice.

If you are uncomfortable with comments about your height, have a look at the below blog for some suggestions. I don't recall ever encountering any outright hostility about my height, but the comments can get a little tedious. Generally, I just smile and change the subject. If I'm in the mood, I go for a little humour, particularly with kids. (The last time a kid mentioned it, I said that when I was her age, every day after I got home from school my parents hung me up on the wall and tied weights to my feet.)

As for your desire to bulk-up, I can't really comment on that. I've never been particularly muscular, and I've never worried about that, but I know body-image is a much bigger thing for young people these days. Maybe you should speak to a professional trainer about this or post a question on a bodybuilding forum?
