Am i the only one who treats their friends this way?

So here's the deal, I talk about people like nobody's business. The worst part is I talk about my friends a great deal. When I'm even the slightest bit upset with one of them, I go to somebody else and talk about them. My friends are so good to me, but I can't help doing what I do.
Every night before I go to sleep, I tell myself that I'm going to start being a better person and not talk badly about my friends anymore. The time I wake up, I may as well forget I even thought about it. Is it normal for me to talk about my friends so much?

Write down a list of goals and read them in the morning.
Check them off at night if you've accomplished them.
They said it in Kindergarten, but it still applies today: Treat others how you would like to be treated.

Grow up. I've known people who behave like you are and they believe people like them, but eventually no one wants anything to do with them and all they do is feel sorry for themselves. Do you realize how lame it is to say 'i just can'y help' talking shit about you whenever i'm slightly annoyed by you.

  • What are you talking about? A lot of people do that.

it's ok to go to someone else and talk about YOUR feelings, like "I'm so frustrated at __X__, I feel like he's doing this to me."

But it's shady to go around talking sh*t about your friends, especially if you're sharing secrets about them. If so then you're being a gossip. No one likes a gossip, you WILL be found out and you'll lose your friends. And then everyone will be talking sh*t about YOU behind your back!

just put a note in the bathroom or on your door when you wake up so you will see it and keep reminding yourself throughout the day.

You sound like you're very young and if so, you can be glad to know that this will improve in time as you practice self control. However, if you don't take any steps to practice self control and make small improvements in this problem it is possible that your problem could continue or even worsen as you get older. Trust can be lost in a moment but must be gained over time. Start being more careful now so that when you're older you'll have some solid friendships.
