First off, I'm not a fan of her music, but her singing isn't that bad. She's an okay musician to me.
But when I see her in interviews and speeches, her regular talking voice is disgusting. She sounds like a monty python character, almost literally.
Am I the only one who notices this?
That's just what a north London accent sounds like, though. I know Dick van Dyke does his "Gaw, bless you, guv'nor" and maybe that may have been partially accurate 150 years ago, but Adele is how north Londoners speak now. It's not as nice to listen to as Geordie or SouthWalian, but such is life.
Everything about her is spectacular. The way she speaks, the way she sings, the way she looks... EVERYTHING! I hope rats chew your toes in your sleep.
Oh, and what the hell is wrong with Monty Python?
I never heard her talk, but I love her music. She had a beautiful singing voice and amazing control over it. I don't understand all these people who say her music is horrible, I think it's absolutaly beautiful, and I'm surprised it's even in mainstream with horrible artist like Niki Minaj and Katy Perry. But I love Adele's music; so beautiful and smooth. She makes me think about Colbie Collait and Norah Jones (also two amazing artists with beautiful voices).
She just has a typical London accent. Many people speak like that... Not just Adele. There are far more worse accents from the UK than that, trust me.
I was sitting in a car with my cousin on the highway and her song came on "Someone like you" and he said that she sounds like a crazy, obsessive ex girlfriend and he pities her ex boyfriend because he probably didn't do anything legitimately wrong, he probably just couldn't handle her crazy ass, and that she used an entire album to slam his ass so obviously she's got some fucking issues. And that she needs to quit whining.
Then he turned the radio to a different station. And I fell asleep. But I agree with him. Her songs torture me.
I don't care too much about her voice. It's the music that makes me want to strangle myself.
MY GOD I FUCKING AGREE. Can't stand her speaking voice one bit. Same thing with Kieth Urban.
Her songs are pitiful and she is just awful. I know a lot of people like her but she just irks me.
She is plain awful. Horrible music , horrible voice , horror personified
I just think you all need to stfu Adele lives her life in beauty and fame, her music is beautiful her voice is awesome and of course there's going to be haters keep it to yourself no one wants to hear your wining of hating music. Her music is only for certain people not all. She quoted "I don't care if only 10 people buy my album but as long as they believe in me." I love her personality and music. So let her be.
Not only is Adele`s speaking voice torture, but she is an awful singer. She screeches and shouts most of the time.
She struggles to get her voice out. Terrible.
At least her songs have meaning. Kate Nash has a song called Pumpkin Soup that has nothing to do with pumpkin soup. And in one song she says something about birds shitting on your head, and she uses a ton of profanity in some of her songs. Attractive, right?
i've heard her speaking voice before, and while it's a stereotypical english accent, it's not that bad to me. one person's voice i can't stand is nicolas cage.
