Am i the only one who hates daniel tosh?

It seems all audiences love him. Those who love offencive humour like him and those who don't aren't aware of his edgier stuff or forgive him because of his " playful camp personality" this is one example of why I hate him.

He was doing a gig at a comedy event. The ones where people tour early material and there's loads of them so you don't know who you'll see

He came on and delivered rape joke after rape joke then stated that rape jokes are always funny to which a visibly upset woman shouted "no. rape jokes aren't funny" he came back with " wouldn't it be funny if this girl was raped, right now, by like 5 dudes" which made her rush to the exit

next day he gives a grudging apology on twitter in which he strongly suggests he feels he should't apologise and the whole country goes awwww we cant stay mad at you.

Why do people like him?

      • Do these stand up commedies not show a list of commedians? From my experiences they do, so I would suspect that she simply did not read up who would be going on stage which comes back down to her having to be responsible to read up on what she is attending.

Yes, they "fucking" can be. If we are to say jokes are not allowed simply because there have been people that have been harmed by the actions of what the joke involved, then that must spread out to "ALL" forms in which someone was harmed and must be expanded to all forms of entertainment.

Do you like shows such as:

        - Family Guy.
        - American Dad.
        - South Park.
        - How I met your mother.
        - The Big Bang Theory.
Basically most movies of shows with humor in them?

Well, according to your mentality, you must equally hate them, as all, if not most of jokes, has offended someone due to their past experiences.

Rape is not immune from humor just because it is assumed to be a primary female issue, it can be used for humor just as every other case of negativity can. As for Daniel Tosh, I am not interested in him much, however from one of the times I have seen him on TV, he has made jokes about someone in a car crash or a kid that fell and hurt themselves. I like how these factors and the many like it where people are harmed and sometimes killed in the same types of situations, do not envoke an anger from people like you, but the second a female is raped joke comes in to it, all of a sudden "RAWR! HE IS SO WRONG! HE SHOULD BE BANNED!".

        Not happening.

        • WHAT the fuck do you know about me!?
Of course I wouldn't find a joke about an accident that killed someone funny! It's funny how you're saying there's no sexism on IIN yet you're the first person to use the phrase " people like you "

          You don't fucking know me

People like you, shut up with that shit, I'd find a joke about a man being raped equally offensive!!

And oh, I must have missed the episode in which shmosby and Barney raped everyone, and when Sheldon raped Amy, family guy is unfunny cutaway gags

Have you been a victim of sexual abuse? Obviously fucking not plus you're not making sense,

You don't like Jokes about rape you obviously don't like himym or big bang? What planet are you on

I don't find jokes about, dead babies, people dying and rape funny therefore I can't enjoy any form of comedy?!

You're opinions are so strong but so warped

          • My point stands. I was explaining how you will have more uproar over the rape than the death of someone. I may be wrong, however that is my assumption. I am willing to have my view changed if you can show me where you have posted somewhere about Tosh joking about the other negative things he does.

My point is, humor is subjectivem, just because it isn't acceptable for you does not mean it is the same for others, and if negative aspects used for a joke shouldn't be allowed, then most of the things you see in comedy shows would end to the point of there probably only being 10% or so of shows, if even that.

"It's funny how you're saying there's no sexism on IIN yet you're the first person to use the phrase " people like you""

What are you assuming? That "you people" was meant as "You women"? My point was that, excuse the insult but was my thought process at the time, that the people like you, as in "idiots like you", not "the people with the same sex as you". You merely assume I meant it in a sexist manner, and I wonder why? Could it be that it's because I am a man, therefor you just assumed it was intended to be a sexist comment?

"People like you, shut up with that shit, I'd find a joke about a man being raped equally offensive!!"

I wouldn't. If a joke with a negative aspect to it is used to make a joke out of a scenario of to make an absurd joke out of it, then it is all fine.

"And oh, I must have missed the episode in which shmosby and Barney raped everyone, and when Sheldon raped Amy, family guy is unfunny cutaway gags"
Stop being narrow-minded. I explained that if you think something should not be allowed because you find it offensive, then if someone else finds something different from rape that is also offensive should be allowed to make that show go away.

How I met your mother: Has shown Barney and Mosby being beaten up numerous time, more so Barney. Eachtime the audience laughtern audio was played, implying it was funny. Someone could find that offensive, and say that it is not ok to joke about that and should be banned for it, as those people have experienced what the characters did and it was not funny and their experience that dealt them pain is being laughed at.

Big Bang Theory: Penny kicked a man in the testicles and it was considered funny. Some people kicked in the testicles would say that isn't funny because it hurts and they were hurt from their experiences of it and by extension they are being laughed at for their experience.

Are you seriously saying the only thing that would warrant banning is rape?

"Have you been a victim of sexual abuse? Obviously fucking not plus you're not making sense."

Yes, I have. When I was young was the worse experience and growing up in highschool I was slapped in my rear, pressed up against, had people touching my crotch, and so on. Just because I have experienced something does not mean that I think those reasons can silence commedy.

"You don't like Jokes about rape you obviously don't like himym or big bang? What planet are you on"

I don't like jokes about rape because most are not formed in the correct manner to make them funny, not because rape was part of the joke. I still believe some jokes involving rape can be funny.

If you get offended at offensive jokes - do not go and watch comedians, who are famous for their offensive jokes.

To the question as to why people like him. Well, people who enjoy offensive humour are often fond of offensive comedians.

Well, that's unfortunate. But I guess that's a risk you have to take, if you go to see a show without knowing who is gonna be performing.

    I love him anyway.

If you don't like him then don't watch him. Accept that you're powerless over whether other people like him or not, and you'll be much happier. You're wasting your time if you're trying to get others to come to their preverbial senses and not laugh at him anymore.

The most you can do for yourself here with this is to feel validated by others who don't like him either.

  • I always enjoyed his show and other offensive humor. I will give my opinion on the topic.

We live in a very fucked up world. Horrible things happen all the time. Some people get it worse than others of course, but we only have a few options given on how to react to these things.

One reaction is to let these things make us sad. To be over sensitive to touchy subjects and cry about everything. Doing so would ruin the quality of life we have, which is already limited.

My making light of life's bullshit, we desensitize ourselves so that we can go on and enjoy the good moments as well. It allows us to get over the negative and enjoy the positive.

Would you rather laugh, or cry?

It is important to be aware of negative and to want to be proactive in preventing it rather than ignoring them. Yes, its true that some things are horrible, but it's impossible to get by or help others without acknowledging awful things. Comedy is just one way to do that and is one of the only ways to find a way to smile after something horrible.

I enjoy offensive humor but I don't like tosh either. He is like the male version of Sarah Silverman- has a rather predictable delivery yet thinks he is something special and has his typical audience of stoner college kids fooled as well. I mean, Dane cook is/was "popular" too but he had the same problem IMO.

I used to really love tosh.o, but now it just doesn't do anything for me. Maybe my love was merely based on the fact that he ferreted out all of the most hilarious YouTube videos, and now that they've run out, the show has to hold itself up on his comedic sketches alone...having said that, I still love offensive humor...go him Jeffries.

I cant stand this queer, arrogant bastard that wears.pink & pretends to have a hot gf. Fake fuck.. maybe if HE was anally gang raped by 20 men he might stop the rape jokes, but he'd probly enjoy it too much.

no its not normal .....simply because WOMEN in general dont like rape jokes but funnily enough.....if a comedian makes a joke about prison rape, or man rape then EVERYONE laughs. What does that say...its not the subject matter, its the fact that ur a sensitive bitch at a OFFENSIVE comedians show.... ur basically too sensitive and its people like you that ruin South Park style humor etc for the rest of the world.

I watched his show a few times years ago. I didn't find him funny. Honestly, I thought he was repulsive and I was surprised to later find out that he's a comedian. I tried to give his "comedy" a chance, but I had to turn it off after 15 minutes because it was just getting awkward. Some of my friends love him, though. To each their own.

I liked Aziz Ansari as actor and as a comedian. But I had to stop watching and supporting him because he brought child abuse into his stand up comedy.

Some people don't mind child abuse and other sexual abuse type jokes and enjoy the laughs. Personally, I don't condone it, so I usually stray away from comedians that try to bring humor in sexual abuse. That's not to say that I don't enjoy other types of offensive jokes. Again, to each their own.
