Am i the only one noticing that straight guys are acting more...gay?

Ok so I was with my other straight friends a few days ago playing baseball and I noticed they smacked each other in the butt with their mitts and then laughed (and all of them have a gf I think) and they were also acting a little gay with their body motions. I've noticed stuff like this in other guys who I'm 99% sure are not gay, has anyone else? And now guys get manicures, care about being all clean and neat, wear bow ties and use gay-sounded phrases on Facebook like "lol" and "omg" and gay little emoticons. So am I the only one noticing this?

Yes I've noticed it too 21

  • Guys hit eachother's rear's all the time when it comes to sports teams, well, the cliche ones. There's no sexual motives behind it most of the time.

Guys getting manicures? The vast majority don't but there's nothign wrong with getting them if they want to look more presentable than normal.

"Care about being neat and clean."
Yeah, because being clean is only a feminine thing, amirite? No.

    "Wear bow ties".
Very few do and they are male attire primarily with suits.

    "Gay sounding phrases like______"
    -_-

Yes. Yes, you are the only one dwelling in your own stupidity.

P.s I know this is a troll post but I have come to understand that some people really are that stupid that they can appear like trolls.

    :)

The term is metrosexual and gay has nothing to do with it. In today's world where looks are prime it would make sense that some men are focusing on their appearance more. Also with there being more open acceptance in most developed parts of the world that aren't riddled with religious zealots, more men are able to express themselves without being worried about whether or not someone is going call them gay.

I attribute this to the "everybody gets a participation award" method of raising children that began in the 1980's. No one - not boys or girls - have to excel at anything in order to be told that they are special. Everyone is special!!! And competition/testosterone is a BAAAAAD thing now.

No wonder we have a generation of soft lazy men. Even older men are realizing that they will be given a "pass" if they claim some sort of depression, anxiety or trauma with no basis in fact. (Not referring to PTSD from battle - our wounded warriors deserve everything we can do to help them and more!)

I would rather be alone than with a man who is "softer" than I am. My late husband was never less than kind but he was unquestionably male. There was never a doubt about who was the pretty one for whom the door was opened and who walked on the outside of the sidewalk and lifted the heavy items.

Men are more feminine now.I agree. The public schools are pushing the agenda. It was the ultimate insult in school if someone said u had two daddies. Now fudge packing is celebrated

I think its normal for all men to pose, turn and flaunt once in a while. I'm straight but sometimes i like to act a little cute and do some slightly feminine poses. I have a girlfriend as well, most friends do the same. its just playful. come join in and be fabulous!

The term you are looking for is metrosexual, which is pretty much the opposite of gay. But I think it's really just your friends, I've never seen a guy getting a manicure or wearing bow ties (how is that even a remotely 'gay' thing?). Care about being clean? That's a thing of our modern society, still nothing gay. Gay-sounded phrases on Facebook? No comment required.
So yes, my bet is that your perception of things is at least a little questionable.

Men are getting softer. But why would you expect anything less? They no longer have to go out and hunt their food, build their own homes or even fight their own wars. Even today's soldiers are soft, using technology to make killing at a distance easier. For christ's sake, the fucking US hasn't won a war since 1945! We've rarely won a battle!
Mankind as such, is no longer the product of "survival of the fittest", but survival of those who can be saved (but should they?) because civilization loves to protect the weak.
But hey, that's progress, right? Wanna bet?

I sometimes find gyspsysailors posts self-righteous but this one I have to agree with 100%.

"Survival of the fittest" applies to the species as a whole, not to single individuals. If there is a species with the strong protecting the weak members, it is more likely to survive than a species who doesn't do that.

The Hawaiians were quite possibly the healthiest, tallest, strongest and maybe one of the most intelligent ethnic groups ever to live. They were extremely selective as to which babies were allowed to live, with pretty much zero tolerance to imperfection. I am not talking personal philosophy here only commenting on a post.

But what is the 'fittest' anyway? The sociopathic bosses, politicians and leaders who bulldoze through life, exterminate anyone in their way, are bereft of empathy, their morals bending every which way in the pursuit of money and power and don't feel bad about any of it? Yeh they are so strong...Who cares about the sensitive, caring people, standing by what they think is right with something to offer humanity who get bulldozed over.
