Am i shallow to want plastic surgery so bad? read please?

I'm 18 and this is my last school year, my family can't even afford it as my dad has a very average salary, so I asked them: can I live here for a few more years and save up?
I'll find a job at my dad's workplace. I'm not ugly and my face isn't unproportional at all, but I do have mouth protrusion, a VERY crooked nose, and a pretty asymmetrical jawline, and my ears stick out, but I feel the surgery will be worth it as my face is proportional and I do have nice features and a nice face shape, but at the moment all those flaws make me look ugly and weird and I want to have them fixed. My mum is happy that I want to get plastic surgery, she said '' you have the potential to look really good and I'm happy you took this decision '', but my dad says that all people who get plastic surgery are just insecure people who are obsessed with their looks.

You're one of so many people who underestimate how much of their face they can change. I'll tell you all the secrets right here, and for free:

Most importantly, your resting tongue position. You have to keep it at the roof of your mouth, tip on the hard palate. Only move it from there if you're talking, drinking or eating.

You have to swallow correctly: tongue at the roof of the mouth. This is the 'adult swallow' that the majority of people never learn. Over time it'll push your face up instead of out—a good thing.

Lastly, for an asymmetrical jawline: you have a dominant side for chewing. Buy some sugar-free, tough gum (I recommend Falim) and chew it on the weaker side. If you don't know which is your weaker side, look at your eyes—the one that's not as wide open is the weak side.

You do this for a year, kid, and you'll be amazed at how naturally beautiful you can be.

You've got the internet in front of you, google what I've said. There's a blog called claimingpower, and that guy has put in a ton of research.

In the words of Captain Planet, the power is yours. Don't be afraid. First step towards improving, Jacob, is realizing there's room for improvement.

That piece of advice was exceptionally good. In fact, the best I have heard in the last 4 years. You're a brain.

A real issue with plastic surgery is that people have too high expectations of it, and end up feeling like they want to change more and more.

Go to the best clinic you can find, don´t pick the cheapest one and ask for a realistic result.

I have things I´d very much like to change but some I doubt I can ever change the traditional way (My upper lip is very short, I have considered getting a medusa piercing and stretch it just a little bit and then add some injections in my upper lip)

It's only shallow if the plastic surgery is unnecessary. You say that you have a few deformities/defects so I don't see anything wrong with wanting to fix them. They are genuine concerns that can affect your life love, employment and general view of people toward you.

Your not shallow because you want to change its your body and if you want to change it then do so freely. Your not as ugly as you think and hopefully you realize that before you get surgery. Just so you know your still going to be insecure after and as much as you think it will solve as your problems it wont it only creates more.

I don't think so, I like my looks, it's just that I have a crooked nose and severe mouth protrusion, but I still like how I look, those flaws are real and not created by my '' insecurity ''.

Well it depends on what you want to change, it rarely goes bad when you have a crooked nose like mine and you want to fix it, most of the time it goes bad when people don't have anything wrong with their looks, they're just average/unattractive and they expect miracles from unnecessary PS.
