you aren't the only one. I get slightly embarrassed when I tell people that I'm American, mostly because I'm an Anglophile. Perhaps this is the same for you? Or, are you ashamed of your country?

I live in the US and my favorite greek resteraunt is run by a fellow from pakistan, but he always tells people he is Israeli because we live in a part of the nation that is often xenophobic.

You're normal. What are people thinking? Settle down, relax, and take it easy!

  • Dear Author,

Jen is speaking out of her ass and my original story has nothing to do with the stuff she is talking about. She is speaking out of her butt as usual on my stories or comments to others. Anyways, good luck with your comment and I am sorry for her, she is rather trashy.

This isn't your story. I know you still live in the land of second grade but I continue to comment because you leave a trail of ridiculous filth wherever you go, like a slug. Not because I have a crush on you. I'm glad you think I'm cute (not really) but I think you're quite ugly and probably one of the most repulsive, unattractive people on the planet.

Besides, you know that's what you said about that Iranian guy. I don't see a denial. Let me see if I can find it. Oh yes, here it is:

  • Although you write like a typical American, sloppy and unreadable, you could be from that area and if you are, than that is fine. I wrote a story on this topic a while ago and stated that others might be offended by your presence but because of it, I am supposibly a racist now or something.

No matter what though, you are fine but live your life better than what is expected from you if you want to fit in. Due to your heritage, the people from the United States may not be so caring so you must strive to be better than they are to be sort of an equal here. I'm sorry for that fraim of mind but it is mostly true in my area. As a white man though, I'm not ALLOWED according to the fuckholes on this site to have a racial oppinion so what the hell do I know?

You didn't say others might be offended by his presence. You said he was a terrorist and deserves the derision that he receives here in America. Really, Bud? I mean, we all read it.

      • Ragging on my stories again, what a shock. Your crush on me is very nice and you are cute but come on, even I know when to quit.

I beat that Tyger girl or whatever the hell her name was, I don't feel like doing this anymore.

you should never be ashamed of where you are from. If you don't feel like you are an Iraqi since you never really been there, just born there, that's fine. i have a friend who used to live in Jordan. she's the best :)

This thread let me down, the smile on my face faded everytime I read a new reply...Was expecting some rant about Iraq...

I'm not going to make one, this is something you should be proud of. Be proud of where you're from man! If anyone says anything bad don't even give them a response. Now get back to making bombs you fucking terrorist camel jockey!

    Peace & Love.

You are ashamed because of the stigma attached to being from your place of origin ALMOST EVERY DAY all over the world Iraq is used in a negative sentence and so people just associate it with war terror and suicide bombers!!

Its complete bull and I understand your fear but just rise above it and embrace your birth country!!

I love all your comments on here... It's quite heartening to see that ethnic diversity, and a human touch is still alive on earth! Don't be ashamed of where you come from! All countries and people have gone through difficult times. This is just a time for your country and people. Just ride through it, and be proud of where you come from!

im really surprised that this question has been handled so maturely. bravo mankind. even though my parents are immigrants from Ecuador, and I was born here. i NEVER feel ashamed, this does not mean it is not normal for you to feel this way, it just means that being ashamed is not the ONLY option... start slowly by entering your culture in your daily life. learn about your history, and the politics going on in your country, so when some disrespectful hick does TRY to make you feel ashamed, you can defend both yourself and your country. no matter how hard things are in Ecuador, it is my home, so I am not afraid or ashamed of it, but yes sometimes its normal to have mixed emotions. just educate others and yourself! (:

I'm from Iraq too! Iraq for the win! Actually, I'm would count myself as British because I've lived in England so long, but I'm not ashamed of where I come from and you shouldn't be either.

Unless we're missing some cultural difference detail, then you should have no reason to be ashamed of it.
