Okay, you know how a baby uses its whole hand to hold just one finger on an adult while they fall asleep? Well, i've noticed that when me and my boyfriend fall asleep i do that to him. I'll hold just his index finger while im falling asleep, it comforts me in a way that holding his hand while im falling asleep doesn't. It obviously doesnt bother him because he doesnt mention anything about it, but it makes me feel juvenille in a way. I was thinking and realized that i didnt have any connection with my parents growing up, and was wondering if im trying to get that comfort from another source, which is weird since he is the man that i love and am about to marry. Or could it just be a weird little quirky habit?

    It is just a habit from your childhood Ray however subconsious still helps calmyou to sleep. It's like how i still need a Teddy bear to sleep, I count sleep without a particular one when I was a baby and now it is hard for me to fall asleep without something to hold onto like that.

    It may have its roots in your early childhood, or it may be some innate instinct that most people simply don't do. I think it's rather cute actually. But either way, it doesn't matter. It's not an indication of some bizarre Oedipal complex, you just find holding his hand comforting like a hug and you naturally turn to your boyfriend for that kind of intimate, loving comfort that you once received.

    omfg!I do the same thing, but with his penis!

    when we sleep, my hand automatically reaches for him there and squeeze as hard as i can.

    you probably just retain the same urges, just on a more subtle level. or maybe his penis is the same size as his finger, and your subconscious is just mistaken.

    either way, its completely normal.
