Am i a horrible person?

I broke it off with my girlfriend, and shes sad which got her (and my) friends against me.
But I went out with another girl..when I was dating my ex, we practically did nothing, never spoke, or hung out..
Point is, am I an asshole?
And should I beat myself up for this..?

People always side with girls when they start with the waterworks. They just want you to feel pain. They're just as horrible as you are.

No, not every relationship works out. Yes, feelings get hurt, but that's just how it is. I wouldn't say it's your fault.

don´t sweat it, you´ll get new friends....sounds to me like the guys that support her only want to get into her pants.

I don't know how you guys could have been "going out" if you hardly ever spoke... either way, it's not as big of a situation as you guys are making it out to be. Of course she's upset, you just broke up with her.. and I'm sure the thing with the other girl didn't help, even if it wasn't serious. Girls are very territorial when it comes to men. What may have seemed like nothing to you could have seemed like a big deal to both of those girls.

I wish I could say that to her..
I just don't get why all of my friends team up with her...

I agree... I've never heard of the guy's friends being on the girl's side unless he's raped her or something.

Think about the girl you fucked instead of the one that dumped you.

Never hate yourself over a decision that you feel you made because it would make you happier. Yes, if the girl is too attached she is going to be hostile over it, but she'll calm down eventually (if she isn't batshit crazy)

most likely. if you go to a church and talk to that dude in the room with a wall separating you, apparently this person called god will let it slide. thats why hes so handy! you can just say "what up, i just killed someone. I believe in you though, so were chill right?" try that.

The fact that you care whether or not you are an asshole is a pretty good sign that you aren't. It you feel bad about yourself, then you're probably doing the right thing. It's the assholes who fuck around and then don't think they've done anything wrong. Maybe you made a mistake, but then just correct it somehow (or maybe you did nothing wrong).

Making a mistake does not an asshole make.

A lot depends on *how* you broke it off. Did you do it sensitively, with respect for her and her feelings, and appreciation for her and the love you shared together?

But I agree that if a relationship is not working, it's better to break it off and move on.

There's really no good way to break it off and someone will always consider u an asshole

You are not a horrible person. People always side with the crying girl in that kind of situation.

I don't know what you mean by 'going out' because you said you didn't really do anything, but I'm going to make the assumption that you cheated and cheaters are assholes. But by posting this poll it is obvious you feel guilty, so kudos to you, you're not a horrible person as you show regret :) just don't cheat again

Huh..well thanks for your guys' opinions.
But I forgot to add something..
A while back I was with my ex, and I never spoke, or anything like that. I technically cheated on her..I don't need an opinion on that cause I know that's a dick move. But after that I broke it off with the other girl and begged for forgiveness, and she forgave me..
I think that plays a big factor..

oh wait, you cheated on her? Oh yeah, then... you bad. But it's all just a drama, anyways. If you make a habit of it, though... it'll cause you problems.

  • if you never even hung out idk wat the problem is because u werent really that close. Its how it is, break ups hurt and people tend to side with the person that seems less of an asshole (u did break up w. her and date sm1 else)but really its really nothing bad.
