My boyfriend just came back from a long trip with a ton of people. He didn't have service on his phone so I couldn't call him. I missed him a lot and when he got back we talked quite a bit. A day after he got back he said that he just wanted to have some time alone because he had spent a lot of time with a lot of people.
Your wish to reconnect and his desire to have some quiet time on his own are both understandable.
It's not an uncommon problem in relationships where the people have lives of their own outside the relationship, and it's one of those times when knowing how to compromise is very important.
I don't think you are a bad partner at all.
Wanting to be alone really depends on the personnality of someone. I'm someone who love to spend most of my time with a girl I love when I'm in a relationship but I know some people need their time alone.
So he may just need time for himself. Either that or he is hiding something from you. I hope it's not the later.
