Always attached to futile situations

I always get very attached to women who are in a position of authority over me or significantly older. When the feelings are not reciprocated due to these complications, I get very upset and clingy. I feel as though this is not a normal reaction to have. If something doesn't work out, most people move on, where as I get a bit neurotic and can't seem to give up on the fruitless situation. I take it far too deeply into heart as well and become very confused. What is going on? :S

    Not everyone moves on gracefully when they are rejected and there's little hope of acceptance. Everyone wants to feel accepted by those they admire and love. We all want our love to be reciprocated. The more desperately we want it, the harder it is to accept defeat.

    The fact that these women are older or in positions of authority over you probably doesn't have a lot to do with how you handle rejection. It just means that you believe they have more appealing qualities than other women and you have a strong desire to please them.
